Pointless waffle
Utterly pointless podcast. The show as broadcast is an hour long. The podcasts are approx 20 minutes long, give or take. How is this achieved? By cutting out all the actual music! You are left with is Jamie Cullum twittering away (plus the weeks interviewee) interspersed with rapidly faded-in-and-out 30 second snippets of the jazz. And the chat isn't the most riveting. In the first show the petit Mr C TWICE stated that Billie Holiday was born in 1939...she certainly had an amazing voice on Lover Man for a primary school child! When I listen to a jazz show I'd like to hear some actual jazz, or if there has to be a lot of talking, talk from someone who knows or cares about the music.
My opinion...
I like it =) that wasn't helpful. sorry
I like it too
As a fan of Jamie and someone who is really just discovering Jazz - I love this podcast - it gives me a taster and an education about what is out there. I see this as a more glamorous alternative to previewing songs on iTunes - and a great guide to what music I should be checking out and downloading.
