VideoExperiencing God's Blessings | There are abundant blessings in our lives already and in the church but are we all experiencing them? During a recent train journey I continually heard the phrase at every station, "MIND THE GAP!" It's a warning not just for railway travellers but for us all. If you're a follower of Jesus every blessing and gift has already been deposited in your life but often there's a gap between that and what we're actually experiencing. That's what I want to address today, in both our personal lives and in the church, the gap between what we what have in Christ and our experience. | 29 5 12 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoBuilding a New Testament Church - Leadership in a NT Church | Today we're concluding our message series by asking "What does Leadership look like in a NT Church?" If you read the New Testament you discover a very simple model of leadership. People called "elders" were those who governed and lead local congregations. And one of the primary ways to understand how elders function is that of a "Shepherd". If we want to understand what a good shepherd, a good elder, looks like in daily life, then we don?t need to look any farther than Jesus, the perfect shepherd. In the 23rd Psalm David describes what the Lord looks like a Shepherd. | 21 5 12 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoBuilding a New Testament Church - Belonging to a NT Church | I want to speak today on belonging to a NT church. As we thought last week, God's vision is for a glorious church, filled with people not simply living "make do" or "get by" lives but flourishing. The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God. Psalm 92:12-13 Palm trees were a source of life. Cedar trees were the strongest imaginable. That's the picture both in OT and NT of what it looks like when planted in God's house, or belonging to the local church. | 14 5 12 | Free | View In iTunes

VideoBuilding a New Testament Church - The Foundations of a Healthy NT Church | The foundations of any building are key to creating something that will last. So what are the foundations of a healthy New Testament Church? If we are the "living stones" which God is building into a spiritual temple for him to dwell and Jesus is the "cornerstone", what does it really mean to build upon Jesus, the Rock. And what role to apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers have in ensuring the living stones are put together to create a glorious church? | 8 5 12 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoBuilding a New Testament Church - The Source & Signs of a Healthy NT Church | Today we want to unpack both the source and signs of a healthy NT church. The church in Laodicea is a warning to every church that we can end up locking the source out. Someone once said that if the Holy Spirit was removed from the life of most churches that things would go on as usual. So what does it look like to keep the source on the doorstep of the church? And if we'll open up fully to Jesus what are the signs that should be evident? | 30 4 12 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoBuilding a New Testament Church - The Culture of a NT Church | Jesus is transforming lives, and building his church. He said... "I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it." Matt. 16:18 If we'll do his ways then Jesus will do his work. We don't have to be a generation in which the church is in retreat. Jesus has promised to build his church and his will is for a flourishing, vibrant and front footed church on the Isle of Man. I want us to think about the type of culture we should be building in the church. Jesus didn't teach about Jewish, Manx or Irish culture but rather about the Kingdom. "Jesus also asked, "What else is the Kingdom of God like?" Luke 13:20 So as we respond to the King's calling to partner with him in the building of the church "What are some of the characteristics of Kingdom Culture?" | 23 4 12 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoRevolution IOM | Jesus is calling us to be part of a revolution, a Kingdom Revolution of salvation and transformation. As Frans unpacks the story of Jesus meeting the woman at the well we're going to discover how we too can be those who bring in a harvest in the places of influence where God has positioned us. | 16 4 12 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoFinal Words - Today you will be with me in Paradise | As we conclude this message series "Final Words" I want to share with everyone that your past failures or bad choices don?t have to shape your destiny or eternal destination either, and that 1 good choice, 1 right decision, NOW, TODAY, can change everything. As Jesus hung on the cross suspended between heaven and earth between 2 thieves it's clear that God is painting a scene for us to remind us that we have a choice to make. Why were there 2 people crucified either side along with him? Why not 10 or 7? To emphasise that when everything is said and done we're left with a choice either to receive or reject Jesus. | 9 4 12 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoEaster on the Hill Highlights | Highlights from 'Easter on the Hill', a re-enactment of the story of Easter, in words, music and drama, completing the story that began at Christmas. This event took place on Easter Saturday 23rd April at Peel Castle in the Isle of Man. For more information, please visit www.doyouknowhim.im | 4 4 12 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoFinal Words - My God, My God, Why? | Sometimes I just don't understand WHY. Have you ever felt that way? Why does God appear to answer some prayers but not others? Why is it that sometimes even though things have been going well that all of a sudden it feels like we're all alone, that God is so far away? I wonder if you've ever felt like Jesus did when on the cross he cried out, "My God, why?" We're in week 2 of our Easter series, "Famous Last" words in which we're reflecting on 4 of the 7 sayings of Jesus from the cross. Today we're looking at when he cried out to God "Why?" From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land. About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?"-which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Matthew 27:45-46 | 2 4 12 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoFinal Words - Father Forgive | As Easter approaches we commence a new message series "Final Words". Our dying Saviour blessed us with moving and powerful final words. In this series we unpack the depth and practical application of the final words Jesus uttered before giving His life. Today we kick off with "Father Forgive". | 26 3 12 | Free | View In iTunes

VideoVision 2012 - The church I see... influencing every part of our community and island | Today we conclude our Vision 2012 series and as we do there are 2 key words in my mind. You'll find both in any dictionary back to back, right beside each other. They're the words relevant and relic. Our passion is that at Living Hope we'll continue to build a relevant church in reaching our generation with the Good News about Jesus but as we do so we must always remember that becoming a relic is closer than any of us might think. We want to unpack what it means for us to be a church "influencing every part of our community's life". | 11 3 12 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoVision 2012 - A Church KNOWN for its love… | We live in an age of advertising, media, the internet and yet struggle still to get the message of the Good News out into the wider world. However, for the first local churches in places like Thessalonica they were described as models of what it means to be church and their message "rang out" across Europe through to the Middle East. What does a church really want to be known for and how can we effectively ensure the message gets out across our island and world. Andrew Rouse continues our Vision series for 2012. | 5 3 12 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoVision 2012 - A church where ordinary people live extraordinary lives | The people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits – Daniel. | 18 | VideoVision 2012 - A Growing Church | What do you think of when you think of a big church? Is big for you 500 people? How about 5,000 people? On May 15, 1958, a worship service was held in a private home. Pastor David Yonggi Cho and his mother-in-law, his 3 girls and 1 elderly woman wanting to escape the rain attended this 1st service. Pastor Cho & his mother began a vigorous campaign of knocking on doors, providing spiritual and humanitarian help to the poor, and praying for the sick. Within a few months the church had grown to 50 members. By 1961 there were 1,000 members. By 1964 the church had 3,000 members. Membership continued to grow rapidly, reaching ten thousand in the early 1970s. On 30 November 1981, membership topped 200,000. As exponential growth continued, reaching 700,000 by 1992, satellite churches were established as a measure of coping with such growth. As of 2007, membership stood at 830,000, with seven Sunday services translated into 16 languages. | 20 2 12 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoVision 2012 - The Church I see is growing more like Jesus... | God, as our Father, is passionate that we grow and develop into the full potential of everything we've been wired for. God loves us just the way we are, but he refuses to leave us that way. He wants to make us just like Jesus. "For from the very beginning God decided that those who came to Him - and He knew who would - should become like His Son" (Romans 8:29). Just as we expect any person to grow and develop physically, intellectually and emotionally, that's normal; God's desire for us is that we grow spiritually day by day. There's something wrong if we remain as spiritual babes. It's not good if as a church we grow a mile wide but only an inch deep. God wants us to grow. He doesn't want us to be held back or stunted in our growth in any area. Peter put it this way. "Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18). | 13 2 12 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoVision 2012 - The Church I see welcomes all people, providing a spiritual family where the lost, hurting and marginalised find | The image of a lavish meal is one that recurs throughout the Bible to help us understand how we relate to God and another. Kingdom life and the church whose function is to advance the Kingdom, isn't about ceremonies but about celebrating together. And it's not just for you and me. It's for the unusual suspects and God has entrusted us with an unlimited supply of "access all areas" passes. | 6 2 12 | Free | View In iTunes

VideoVision 2012 - The Church I see glorifies God and is Purpose Driven | What is God's Vision for the Church? Let's ask God what His vision is for the church and where do we find that? In the Bible! There are literally thousands of verses that reveal to us God's passion for the church and we could spend years looking at them however Jesus himself has narrowed down the purpose of the church to 2 key passages: The Great Commandment & The Great Commission. | 23 1 12 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoVision 2012 - Changing ONE thing in 2012 | 92% of many New Year's resolutions are over in days. It might be because as Boots suggest that often it's we're trying to take on too much and we really need to focus on one thing. However, I think often it's also because we're choosing to do "good things" as opposed to "God things", we have "good intentions" rather than "God intentions". Today I'm praying that the Spirit of God will show you "one thing" he wants to do in our lives in 2012. Today's message is all about Changing One Thing in 2012. | 16 1 12 | Free | View In iTunes
| 26 | VideoVision 2012 - A Mega Church | The first church was truly a mega church. Yes it was a church of thousands but that isn’t why it was mega. They experienced mega power and mega grace.
