CleanModern Nu Jazz Rhythms Episode 16: Earth, Fire, Water, Air.....and Music! | Earth, Fire, Water, Air...and Music! Those that unite as all. This podcast marks the end of a 2 year period beginning when I started the Modern Jazz Rhythms podcast. The "Nu Jazz" was added later because I realized that was a term people all over the world were searching for. It's really hard to believe that it's been 2 years. Especially since the reasons I started this podcast were to, one, share music with a friend and fellow music lover who lived in a different state (mailing cd's seemed out-of-date) and, two, at the suggestion of a fellow selector that I do so. I never imagined others would find it and listen as well. It's interesting that, though this episode has been up almost a week and downloaded close to 1,000 times, the only 2 people that have shared a comment with me are the aforementioned music lover and fellow selector. I'm forever grateful for their friendship and listening support. There a few thousand podcasters on podomatic and thousands more using other platforms. We all do it for different reasons. For me, I find it extremely encouraging to know that there is someone in some city, some country, some continent on this Earth that appreciates a 2 hour segment of music that includes, as this month's podcast does, Quiet Nights Orchestra, Flora Cruz, Sergio Mendes, Eddie Jefferson, Jamiroquai, Herbie Hancock, Luisito Quintero, Karl Denson, Cal Tjader, Wes Montgomery, Koop, Gregory Porter, Fertile Ground, and more. So I'm really glad to be a part of this "underground" community that includes fellow podcasters.....Enoch IS Real with Global Warmth, Peter Hitch with Nu Directions (in Jazz & Groove), DJ Marky Mark's Podcast, The Hot Box with Gary Turner, Keith Coston with Jazz Renaissance, Duane Powell with Soundrotation, Norvell's Podcast, and so many others. In the Terminator movie series, it was John Connor who led what remained of the human population to victory against Skynet and the machines. I consider them all, and others like them, the "John Connors" of the underground music movement. And then there are those who lend their listening support on a weekly or monthly basis..without fail. Ralph, Sista Chris, Hugo & Family, LTHEMAN, Arthur, John, Jose, Clovis, CB Roberts, Thando, Mphumeleli, and Diphapang are connections I've made via MNJR. You should always know your importance to the cycle of artistic energy...without you the cycle is broken. I hope you enjoy the music. Though meaningless to some, music to you and I is paramount to a Life well-lived and overall good health. Music, to us, is as essential as Earth, Fire, Water, and Air.
