CleanPPOD | 016 | Giorgio Gigli | Always evolving as an artist and as a producer, Giorgio Gigli draws inspiration from intense emotional experiences by using music as his form of communication. Each composition is created from moods, which are then transformed into waves, layers and substrates to create visual simulations and virtual landscapes in your mind. His music will slowly push you further and further into his world until you lose grasp on reality. Soon the simple voids, pitfalls, drones and dilated melodies become much more intricate and when those hypnotic rhythms start to transform... Your caught in his dream like a fly in a spiderweb, and you can't get away... Giorgio's love for ambient music allows him the power to analyze and render almost every element and vibration during his productions as well as his dj sets, which is why he is one of the most exciting artists in the techno community to date. I hope you enjoy as much as I do, it's a personal favorite of mine. Enjoy! 01. Sendai – Terminal Silver Box - Time to Express 02. Carlo Zanelli - Tuu - Eleusína Recreations 03. CleanPPOD | 009 | Delko | Discovering and innovating sound have always been the key points for the music of Delko. Raised in the small town of Rio Maior, Delko has always been in close contact with all kinds of music such as Rock, Alternative and Electronic Music, escaping well away from the mainstream music. Delko’s major influences mainly come from the Detroit Techno scene as well as the fascination from the abstract and deep sounds involving dark atmospheric sounds, in which he conveys these influences into his own releases. The musical philosophy of Delko is combining two different styles together, the more dance floor music orientated style with that of the more experimental style, creating a distinctive kind of style of techno. His feelings and adventures turn into deep and hypnotic atmospheres by developing loops which make the listener absorb the tracks and feel the rhythm and music in the simplest way. Delko currently releases music on various labels such as, Propellant Music, Prosthetic Pressings, Synewave, Blind Spot Music, Backwater Community Records, Ketra Records, Phobiq, Packed Music, Transmissions and Skyline Types Grooves. His DJ sets are characterized by the concept which distinguishes his music and range from the dub and deep ambient to new modern Techno. 01. Delko - Nightmare - Prosthetic Pressings 02. CleanPPOD | 007 | Subfractal | In an age of short attention spans and constant media bombardment, Subfractal have unquestionably cemented their position as powerful techno tastemakers. Growing up in Karachi, Pakistan, Fahad Ahmad and Syed Mishaal Raza, like so many others, aspired to follow in the footsteps of legends like Lawler, Tenaglia and Tong. However, Fahad and Syed didn’t cross paths until 2006 after they’d both moved to Canada, where the burgeoning electronic music scene and a common love of techno brought them together. After collaborating on a handful of projects, the musical chemistry between the duo became evident, and Subfractal was born. Since then, their brand of brooding, driving, beautifully dark minimal techno has been propelling them up the ranks of the electronic music scene with breakneck speed. Their music has reached international audiences through releases on well-respected labels like Harthouse, Excentric Muzik, Sleaze Records, Bosphorus Underground, Respekt Recordings, Frequenza, Brood Audio, CODE, Piso Records, Klimaks, Airbus, Teggno, Inminimax and many others. With support from industry heavyweights like Umek, Adam Beyer, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Spektre, Fergie, Hernan Cattaneo, Phunk Investigation, Noir and so many more, it’s no surprise that Subfractal’s releases routinely appear in the upper echelons of countless techno and minimal charts. In 2009, their remix of Larry Power’s ‘Milk’ spent over six weeks in the highly coveted #1 spot on the Beatport Minimal Charts. Since then, their releases have seen success in the Beatport Top 100 Techno Chart on several occasions, including a handful already in 2011. Acclaimed performances at WMC in Miami, the Detroit Electronic Movement Festival and clubs around the world have seen Subfractal rip dancefloors apart with their showcases of booming underground techno and dark heavy minimal. Fahad and Syed currently operate out of Toronto and New York City respectively, and continue to demonstrate their versatility. They’re constantly remixing talented artists across various sub-genres of electronic music, and throwing events to help up-and-coming DJs gain exposure. Expectations are flying high for this talented duo in 2011 and with a plethora of marquee releases and live shows on the way, they’re most definitely up for the challenge. 01. CleanPPOD | 005 | Space DJz | There are few Djz and producers in the modern techno world who can truly claim to have pioneered a style and sound, and call it their own. Such statements are often declared, but rarely justified. In the case of Ben Long and Jamie Bissmire, the names behind the revered Space DJz this claim would be unarguable. Ever since the pair's formation in the early 1900's their unerring ability to fuse techno with their life long love of Hip Hop, has set them aside from there peers. In the present day, an abundance of UK techno producer's have emerged, none would deny The Space Djz are true innovators. In 1995 the duo released their debut Ep Space DJz on the legendary and now defunked Infonet imprint, quickly followed up by an outing on the Belgium label Reload These two projects put them on the techno map but the real turning point arrived in early 1996 on Infonet with the release of the ..Return to earth', Ep, containing the techno anthems ..Side on', and ..Rock the house'.Both trakz would blow up to be huge and be re-released via Frankfurt based Ongaku .The combined output of both releases was over 10,000 copies and along side Dave Clarks Red 1 these were two of the biggest tunez of the year and are still much sought after and played to this day. The Djz became prize catches for major playerz Nova Mute and Soma contributing several more classic releases, culminating in 1999's critically acclaimed album ..On Patrol... The album expressed Ben and Jamie's roots perfectly, combining their now infamous hip hop influences with their unique brand of analog techno and chaotic electronic soundscapes. Later that year The Space Djz delivered a trak that was to become one of their biggest hitz to date AK 47 a trak that had originally been heard on a Nova Mute Compilaton was reworked and served to capture the period's riotus spirit of techno. Listening to that record, one would imagine was like being attacked with a chainsaw buy an electronic chicken, simply brutal. It was released as a double pack on Ben Long's highly regarded Potential Recordingz and featured remixes by many of techno's biggest namez including Umek, The Advent, Gaetano Parisio, Oliver Ho, Inigo Kennedy, Chris McCormack. During 2001 Ben and Jamie also able to concentrate on their solo projects working with labels such as Consumer Recreation, CLR, Primate, PrimeEvil, Tortured, Advanced, Eukatech, Speilzeug, and the running of their own labelz Potential Recordingz, Ergonomix, ReRub , 50hz, Ground, Foundation and Target. Jamie also released a Bandulu album Redemption with Music Man. 2002 saw the welcome return of The Space Djz on Blly Nasty's Tortured imprint with the Faces of Pain double pack, their first release together in almost two years, and a double mix Cd was released on Primal Rythms entitled The Last Djz on Earth. They were back and they were better then ever. During this time, and indeed long before, The Space Djz have been renowned the world over for their breathtaking skillz behind the deckz. Whether working as a team or individually, Ben and Jamie consistently deliver astounding performances .. Dj' ing to them is an art, and with over ten yearz on the world Dj circuit they have the knowledge and experience to rock any party right. Space Djz in 2009 are continually forging forward with their music production and Dj skills. What they where doing yesterday is not what's on the agenda today... 01. Knobs - Red Blood 02. His past led him to become obsessed with Allen & Heath mixers with the highest respect for the nurture and nature of the scene in the UK, Germany and Japan. Influenced by the likes of Heron (Limikola/Synewave), Markus Sucket (Frappant/Stroboscopic Artefacts) he's inclined toward dark, underground venues where comfort breeds opportunity for a challenge.
