Episode 30 - Liverpool vs Everton
|
With the world of football in semi-final mood, our Game of the Weekend focused on the FA Cup clash between Liverpool and Everton.
Joining Ryan Keaney, Simon Furnivall and Andy Hunter was Hayden Shaw as we talked in-depth about the game at Wembley and the overall positions that the two clubs find themselves in. Kenny Dalglish, Andy Carroll, David Moyes, Tim Cahill, Jamie Carragher, Steven Gerrard, Leighton Baines and Leon Osman were among the numerous topics mentioned.
There was time to weigh in with our thoughts on goal-line technology in football, whiz around the top leagues of Europe as they approach the very end and have a little bit of a quiz on scorers in FA Cup finals.

Episode 29 - Paris Saint-Germain versus Marseille
|
This week on the show we welcomed Jonathan Johnson of French Football Weekly to discuss the biggest game in France. The Ligue 1 clasico between Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille had 11 eleven hours of television coverage devoted to it. We discussed it for about 17 minutes – but it’s all good.
There was also time to discuss diving and simulation in football, before the weekly quiz which tested the guests on the careers on some of the finest English and French players.
As always, host Ryan Keaney was joined by Simon Furnivall and Andy Hunter.

Episode 28 - To be honest, Lionel Messi is pretty rubbish
|
On the show this week, we took time to discuss the most recent goings on in Serie A as well as the last eight of the Champions League.
Suhail Seedat joined Ryan Keaney, Simon Furnivall and Andy Hunter to go over the clash between Juventus and Napoli on Sunday which was the Game of the Weekend. The gents also discussed Inter Milan's recent appointment and what we make of Milan ahead of the run-in.
As for the Champions League conversation, the bit on APOEL is simply brilliant. The rest is pretty much expected and well-predicted, especially as we now know who won two of the games.

Episode 27 - It's all Gareth Bale's fault
|
This week on the podcast, Ryan Keaney, Simon Furnivall and Andy Hunter were joined by Down in the Box's Barry Landy to discuss the top and bottom of the Premier League.
We're started with discussion on Bolton versus Blackburn on Saturday and everything that it meant in the relegation battle before focusing attention on Wolves, Wigan and Queen's Park Rangers as well. Simon, Andy and Barry made sure to weigh in on who they think will drop into the Championship for next season, although Andy appeared more concerned with talking up Blackburn than focusing on the others.
At the top of the table, we're looked over the contenders for the final two Champions League places assuming that both Manchester clubs keep up their impressive marches towards the top two and reserved special, and slightly realistic, praise for Newcastle. There was then some support thrown behind the contenders for the Player's Player and Young Player of the Year.

Episode 26 - Barcelona can still win La Liga
|
This week on The Football Project we welcomed Gary Linton on to the show as we tried to discuss three specific games.
With Ryan Keaney, Simon Furnivall and Andy Hunter, Gary helped us to analysis the performances of the top two in La Liga over the weekend and ponder if the title race is completely over.
We also took some time over the biggest game in world football, the Edinburgh derby. Simon gloated, Ryan scrambled for someone to tell him he wasn't so bad and then Gary pondered what will happen to Rangers.
It's a good week. The stadium quiz is ace.

Episode 25 - Hoffenheim had the best seats in the place
|
No, we really aren't making this up. The Football Project podcast is now 25. We've recorded 25 shows (although technically one of them still needs to be published) and as we hit this landmark, we decided not to really mention it on the show.
With Simon unavailable, Ross Dunbar stepped in to join Andy Hunter, Ryan Keaney and this week's guest David Chalmers.
Starting with Sunday's clash between Schalke and Hamburg, the panel discussed the top and the bottom of the Bundesliga title with particular mention going to the S04 front-two and some praise lavished on Bayern Munich as they went about beating Basel 6-0.
In the second part, we discussed the Europa League; particularly the continued involvement of the two English sides in the tournament and in the final part, the quiz got a little ridiculous.
