We delve in the deepest, darkest depths of non-league with Stuart Hammonds from The Non-League Paper, who helps review a busy weekend of first round FA Cup ties. On the agenda (amongst others) are Fleetwood Town, Luton, AFC Totton and Redbridge - plus there's also a nod to Swindon's cheeky demolition of high flying Huddersfield. Following the surprise appointment of Michael Appleton as the new boss at Portsmouth, we also speak to our Pompey blogger Alex Best to get his reaction - and also ask if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was ever in with a realistic shout of getting the job. There's also a catch up with Mike Parkin of Watford podcast 'From The Rookery End', who gives his take on a chaotic few days behind the scenes at Vicarage Road. Plus, our Crewe writer Hugh Wilson comes on to pay tribute to Dario Gradi. After a staggering 1404 games at the helm, he has finally vacated the dug out at Gresty Road for the last time. There's all that, Mark's trip to Amsterdam and Carl's slip of the tongue - plus Cardiff against Bury in the Allan Johnston Paint Trophy… Next week the show will be out a few days later than normal (apologies)! Episode 16 - Cardiff On The Climb | It's another packed podcast this week as the WAGU boys draw their breath following a busy weekend up and down the Football League. Following four wins in five, the latest a 2-0 victory against Crystal Palace on Saturday, Malky Mackay's new look Cardiff have quietly sneaked up into fourth in the Championship. With a Carling Cup quarter final also on the horizon, we catch up with our Bluebirds' blogger Rich Blake to find out just how Mackay is doing it. It's a different story entirely for Phil Brown in League One. His Preston side were spanked 5-2 by leaders Charlton at The Valley on Saturday, their sixth defeat in seven league games. With the pressure mounting on his head at Deepdale, we speak to our North End blogger Hannah Lupton. It's a similar story for Dagenham & Redbridge in League Two. John Still's men were defeated by Shrewsbury on Saturday, a sixth straight loss, which leaves them realistically on the brink of a second successive relegation. Episode 15 - EPPP Special | This week the WAGU boys look in detail at the controversial new 'Elite Player Performance Plan' which was voted in by the 72 Football League clubs on October 20th. The EPPP, which sets new rules for academy systems in England, could make it much easier for Premier League sides to hoover up young lower league talent for next to nothing - but will conversely offer better facilities and more hands-on coaching to improve player development. Following anti-EPPP protests at Selhurst Park on Saturday, the lads are joined by James Daly, editor of Crystal Palace fanzine 'Five Year Plan', to look in depth at both the positives and negatives of the new scheme. We also, as ever, round up the weekend's action from across all three divisions - including our take on Sven's departure, Barnet's latest defensive horror show and a brand new Bayo Akinfenwa chant that will soon be sweeping the stands at Sixfields. There's all that, plus Yeovil against Middlesbrough in the Allan Johnston Paint Trophy… You can read our latest blogs at wearegoingup.co.uk and follow the show on Twitter @WAGUpodcast. | 31 10 11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Customer Reviews
Great podcast; PJ in London
The lads clearly know what they're talking about and the sound quality is really good. Nice to be able to listen to a podcast that totally focuses on events away from the prem rather than having the football league as an afterthought, and that's coming from an arsenal fan! Keep it up chaps
Really good analysis
Informative and easy to listen to. Very few football league podcasts out there, so this is a really welcome addition.
A great listen
As a fan of a football league club it's great to hear some analysis outside of the Premier League. Looking forward to hearing more once the season kicks off!!
