Customer Reviews
wtf is this?
I've been listening to this for months now, and I couldn't really tell you why. I'm from the UK, and I have no prior knowledge of Marc Maron, or the LA/NY comedy scenes that he seems mired in. These podcasts rarely make me laugh, and I have no inclination to check out any of Marc's other stuff. Honestly I'm not even sure if/when I'm supposed to be laughing, I guess the whole thing goes completely over my head.
And yet I am still listening. Compulsively. WTF?
The sensational Marc Maron
I downloaded this on the off chance that I might like this! I never review things but Marc makes me feel like I have to say how amazing this podcast is and this is it. "POW!!" A vast assortment of guests and characters join Marc in his ramblings and what seems like his own quest to answer the problem that is life. But for me, the funniest stuff is when his on his own just spewing out his thoughts. Despite being a Brit I can relate to the majority of things he rambles on about and I find myself nodding to every WTF comment he comes up with. I listen to this on the train and have devoured the first few episodes just so I can catch up and have the most recent installations. This really isn't for the faint hearted and timid people who don't question anything. I can only recommend to download the pilot episode, listen to the first 5 minutes and the only question you'll ever ask again in life may just well be ... "WTF?"
What podcasts were invented for
Marc Maron continues his campaign of witty integrity against the dullards of corporate entertainment by refusing to be ignored (i.e. repeatedly fired). Introspective yet politically engaged, ridiculous yet brave, neurotic yet deeply aware. Most crucially, he is funny, intelligently, imaginatively funny. However the question remains… on his new direct action shoplifting policy, is he taking requests? PS. Jeffrey Ross should pay therapist fees to Maron for this episode. PPS. I gave it 4 stars, he'd only get a big head and stop trying if you give him 5.
