The series is fantastic however the picture quality is just appalling making it unwatchable! Other reviewers suggest this is because it is not in HD, but this picture is so blurred and over-exposed I don't believe it can be simply attributed to the SD format...one can barely make out the faces!! I would strongly suggest not buying it in its current state, it totally ruins the pleasure of the previous series!! Itunes, you need to sort this out!!!!
Downton Abbey Series 2 - no HD, too expensive
Great show but why no HD, why so expensive for only a few episodes?
3 stars for poor picture quality (5 for the show itself)
It is great to see that this is on iTunes already (particularly as I am abroad for a while and hence can't watch it on tv!) but I am really disappointed with the film/picture quality. I know that it is only standard definition (it's a shame it's not available in HD yet, as Series 1 is) but surely that is no reason for this to seem out of focus? Watching it I feel as if I'm losing my sight, and I have 20/20 vision! I'm not sure if the fault lies with iTunes or with itv, but I wouldn't recommend buying this until it comes out in HD.
On the plus side, the plot is as interesting as ever and I am gripped already!
