The Closer

The seventh season of the US police drama begins as a rapper and six of his friends are gunned down. Brenda and the team investigate the owner of the hip-hop record label to which the artist was signed. An unsettled Gabriel reveals that he knew two of the victims. Meanwhile, Chief Delk is about to announce his new plans for departmental organisation when Brenda becomes the target of a civil lawsuit against the department.

As a major realignment takes place at the LAPD, Brenda's team investigate the murder of a young woman who was house-sitting in an affluent neighbourhood. In the light of the civil suit against Brenda and the department, Captain Raydor is forced to extend her audit and interview everyone in Major Crimes.

Flynn and Provenza aim to make some easy money by moonlighting for a lawyer. However, they soon find themselves in trouble when they serve court papers to a crooked financier who has been targeted by his angry clients. The man is killed, just minutes after the duo made contact with him, and confusion over his identity only complicates matters.

The team start a frantic search when a boy goes missing from a summer camp where Lt Tao's son Kevin is working. When a body is found, the case becomes a murder investigation, but bad feeling between the boy's mother, her jealous ex-husband and her new boyfriend causes disruption for the detectives. Meanwhile, Brenda is left feeling unsettled when Captain Raydor makes a troubling suggestion during her audit.

The squad investigates the death of a church minister with a scandalous secret, and the family who will do anything to protect his name and their church. Meanwhile, all but one member of the Major Crimes unit receives a subpoena in the civil suit against the LAPD, raising questions about the one who didn't get served.

When the body of a registered sex offender is discovered buried under a retaining wall at a residential construction site, the team search the crime scene for clues. Meanwhile, Brenda considers hiring expensive lawyer Gavin Baker to help her face the civil lawsuit against the police department, but the size of his fee could necessitate strict economies at home, unfortunately for Fritz.
