Clouds

A great atmospheric/IDM album

     

I own this since the day it first came out -- actually, I must be Leaf's greatest fan.

The album is sort of a crossover between the dark, cinematic atmospheres that you find in much quieter acts, and the mind-boggling IDM of artists such as Aphex Twin or Venetian Snares. The closest thing that comes to mind, musically, is Funckarma.

Leaf was criticized much about this one, since it's a departure from his known style, but to me, it's his best album to date, combining all the elements that made him an uprising force of the Greek Electronica scene.

If you're into Electronica that knows no boundaries and experiments without ever forgetting that the ending result should be enjoyable music, this is an album you should definitely listen to.
