Another stunning record...
Another great album from Ireland's greatest musical export in the last twenty years.
The purple patch continues apace
Certainly a case of 'if you liked the last one', this is possibly Hannon's best work to date. Not bad considering it's his tenth. How many artists of this genre (melodic-clever-good-old-fashioned-songsmithery) can you name who are at the height of their powers after nearly 20 years in the biz? The Duckworth Lewis Method project has allowed him to up his game - there's the usual blend of 'funny' (The Complete Banker) and 'poignant' (When a Man Cries) with a couple of 'fluffy but nice' (Island Life) ones thrown in too. If you buy one Divine Comedy album... etc
