A knight's tale

Excellent soundtrack - continues on with some thematic elements from the Batman Begins score, but also introduces some new sounds & themes. The opening track "Why so serious" has a really cool intro, with a long, low whine that slowly builds into a strong opening 9 minutes. The only thing that's stopping me from giving this five stars is that it lacks some of the more emotive moments from the first soundtrack. In that film, Batman's origins were explored and this allowed the composers perhaps more light & shade in how they approached the sound. In this second film, the sound is more foreboding - the ubiquitous dark second act, so-to-speak. Some may prefer this, but I prefer the first - only by a shade though. Once again, an excellent soundtrack by a formidable team - go ahead and buy it!!

Epic soundtrack for an epic film.

This is a quality score from Zimmer and Newton Howard. 'The Dark Knight' I would describe as an epic film, albeit a flawed one. There was a lot going on in the film with some amazing sequences so its only fitting that the score matches the films immense breadth. Stand out tracks are 'Why So Serious?' (for that mesmerising opening shot of the film), 'Aggressive Expansion' (which features the huge dramatic sound that you'll recognise from the trailer and will associate with the film in general) and the closer, 'The Dark Knight' which is an emotive mammoth that captures all the feelings of the film, mainly: melancholy & terror.) Other tracks such as 'I'm Not a Hero', 'Harvey Two-Face' and 'Agent of Chaos' are also worth mentioning. The score is expertly put together and sounds magnificent on big speakers. If you liked the film, pick up this album and you'll find yourself liking the film more as it is the perfect accompaniment to reflect on it. Good job dudes!

Unbeliveable

Perfect. It is completely flawless, Ive been blown away by the power of this music. The film itself was fantastic with great scrip, directing and ,obiously, amazing acting, but the soundtrack completely finished it off. This music really made some scenes what they were 10/10. Buy it.
