Universal Music TV/Polydor's two-disc Osmonds Ultimate Collection features 40 tracks culled from the impossibly cheery bubblegum, country, and pop/rock family's '70s heydays. Disc one focuses solely on the Osmond Brothers, serving up a set of radio hits and fan favorites like "Down by the Lazy River" and "One Bad Apple (Don't Spoil the Whole Bunch)," while disc two spends time on the works of Donny and Marie (both solo and together) and Jimmy and includes bonus (enhanced video) footage from early-'70s performances on Top of the Pops.

Following the breakout success of the Jackson 5 in 1970, it was practically inevitable that a pre-existing quintet of brothers, who had already enjoyed almost a decade in the national spotlight, would follow them to teen idol superstardom.
