A Zimmer Classic

Although i do agree that the official review does not best describe this album i don't think it is because of the music.The official review is more like a review for Dead Man's Chest and doesn't even describe the excellent music to be enjoyed on this album. I think this CD is one of Han Zimmer's best work and with a number of new melodies has brought a fresh breeze to the final installment of the pirates trilogy whereas Dead Man's Chest sounded more or less the same as Curse of the Black Pearl. Up Is Down and Drink Up Me Hearties are the best in Hans Zimmer's genius and I would no doubt recommend them to anyone looking at this album.

Wrong

I have to say that what the "official" review said is not true on all accounts, as I prefer the majestic sounds of the music composed by Klaus Badelt and Co. Whereas Hans Zimmer relies on light strings too much, possibly hopeing that it will cause some sort of tension, which makes the film slower to start up. If you are watching the film I do not think you will notice the difference too much, as I did not, but then i saw The Dead Man's Chest first.

Composer Hans Zimmer was born September 12, 1957 in Frankfurt, Germany; after relocating to London as a teen, he later wrote advertising jingles for Air-Edel Associates, and in 1980 collaborated with the Buggles on their LP The Age of Plastic and its accompanying hit "Video Killed the Radio Star." A stint with Ultravox followed before Zimmer next surfaced with the Italian avant-garde group Krisma; he then formed a partnership with film composer Stanley Myers, and together they founded the London-based...
