Love it!
It's not very often that you get an album that you can listen to straight through, no skipping through songs! From the songs we know already (trick of light, delphine wakes, behind closed doors) to another year, sweetest silence, the battle, it's just top class Irish music!!
Buy it and play it, won't be disappointed!
Worth The Wait
There are only 3 songs in my life that I can remember when and where I first heard them. Delphine Wakes is one of those three and since its release I have waited for this album.
Now with the wait over I can happily say this was a wait worth making. The album flows together beautifully from track to track, with each song holding its own. There is not one track on this album that makes you want to use the next key in fact what it does do is make you press the repeat key.
So if you’re looking for some great tune with infectiously catchy lyrics then this is for you.
This is one of those rare occurrences...
... where a group brings out a first album that comes with the maturity and accomplishment of a much more experienced group. This is Rocket Science by Storyfold. The sound is pure indie pop, fresh, a little edgy, not too sweet, a perfect balance of influences from west coast USA to Sheffield and Dublin.
It's great to like an album from the first spin and to like all the tracks on it. There are no fillers here, each song stands on its own feet for what it is. This is one of those great debut albums that screams look at us, we're bloody good, pay attention. Hopefully many will because talent like this should not go unrecognised, unrewarded and unheard.
Storyfold's story is about to unfold... buy it!
