Not as easy to use as it should be

After using the Bank of Scotland app, which is super easy and fluid to use (maintaining safety and privacy as priority) using the Bank of Ireland app has proven quite challenging. Setting up a direct debit is a nightmare, trying to CANCEL a direct debit is another nightmare, for some reason these don’t appear in a simple list, but one has to put all the details of the person/company the DD is directed to, in order to make changes. One should ave a list of the companies and people they have direct debits with, and should be able to change these without pointless steps. Setting up an account is almost impossible, it is not even clear which accounts can be added onto the app and which accounts cannot. I called a few times after setting up a savings account, and different agents gave me different answers, until I finally learned that my savings account could not be added (for some reason which I still don’t understand) to my app, and therefore I could not access at my own leisure to change money around. I cancelled it in the end. I completely understand privacy and users safety, but this does not mean a customer has to go through madness to perform simple tasks.

Terrible

I’ve been using the app for about two years since switching from Ulster Bank. During this time I’ve been requesting Face ID login any time they ask for feedback. They have finally allowed Face ID login but it’s terrible. Firstly, it only “works” for logging in. There’s still the same rigmarole every time you make a payment that you have to insert three numbers from your pin and swipe a pointless verification thing after your pin. If you’re doing a few payments in a row, you’ve attempted to use Face ID to log in , which may or may not work ( if it doesn’t work, you’re instructed to input your pin which also won’t work unless you close the app and reopen it). Then you choose to do a payment where Face ID is not an option for security, you input 3 random number from your pin and slide the verification bar to confirm. This has to be done for each payment. It’s a joke. Bank of Ireland should really look at the revolut app. It’s light years ahead and I think I’ve revolut offer Irish ibans, I’ll be closing my Bank of Ireland account. Update 23 March Face ID on iPhone is still a disaster. Doesn’t sheets work and asks for PIN login instead which also doesn’t work until I close and reopen the app. I’m now online researching which bank I will move to. Even my credit Union app with all its flaws can manage to integrate Face ID. The app is also using 5.5gb of storage. WTAF?

Just got a push notification asking for feedback and it led me here....

The app needs work. As does the customer service(friendly but useless). I’m gutted KBC is leaving because they do both so brilliantly!
My issue today was wanting to add a my booking current account to my revout add money feature and of course I don’t have my physical card with me because I tap everything and there’s no was to see your card long number or cvv on the app so basically had to withdraw KBC savings and take from that account because of course everything works so smoothly there.... did eventually manage to send money first from boi but not because boi works at all but because Revolut has useful features and then because bank of Ireland will transfer that money so slowly a big lump of money will arrive in that account probably about three days after I return from holidays.... useless! I’m so dreading KBC leaving! I was so reluctant to join them in the first place because you want to keep your business Irish but it was the best decision. Everything is so seem less, the rates are better an if you run into issues it’s sorted in five minutes on the phone by people with serious cop on. Maybe just copy their business model please!
Yikes.... why would you send push notifications asking for public feedback when you’ve such a crappy service???
