Definitly worth the time!

I found these podcasts to be informative and enjoyable. Great to listen to when your working at your desk. It's like multitasking, I can get work done and learn something new at the same time.

both engaging and scholarly

This coverage of history is very well done, with three host professors who bring both energy and erudition to the show. They spark the discussion of historical questions with their own comprehensive knowledge of three centuries of American history as well as by bringing in several interviews wtih more specialist scholars who argue for different postions on the topic at hand. Historical inquiry at its best is about the debates among historians, and it is fun to listen to here. They also bring in intelligent audience questions for further discussion. For those who believe that history is dull or 'just one thing after another', Backstory may change your mind. It is engaging without being dumbed down.

this is one great travel podcast
