Gives Ancient Greek study a bad name

This professor is terrible. I could teach this better than he can. He has no passion for the subject and makes it sooo boring. Ancient Greek is a wonderful language especially to read. There are a wealth of stories and myths to read in their original as well as the philosophy and epic. I don't know but after learning on my own, this course listed here should be deleted. This professor is dry, sarcastic, and seems he really doesn't care about the subject. I would have not liked Ancient Greek if I took this course. Get the book Athenaze, a textbook, or another text like Alpha to Omega or the JACT reading Greek course. Remember Ancient Greek is NOT Koine (common, today's) Greek.

Good for Ancient Greek

Good course overall - good information. And very generous to be offered for free. This course in an Ancient Koine Greek - not modern Greek.
To the previous poster Anastasia3 - this is ancient Greek and the professor is pronouncing ancient Greek correctly. If you are a teacher I would expect that you would be able to research these things first without making misguided accusations. Modern Greek changed many of the ancient pronunciations over time. So, in the times of Plato and St. Peter beta (β) was pronounced with a "B" sound. Additionally, gamma (γ) was pronounced with a hard "G" sound and not aspirated as is done today.

Your review is extremely unfair and you should remove it. If you maintain academic integrity and honesty trust that you will.
