Description
This course is a survey of techniques used in 3D computer animation, we will be using a commercial animation package: Maya. This course will be focus on Character Animation. Students should eventually be able to create a short animation by using 3d package like Maya to tell a story or express his or her individual message. Planned topics: Modeling techniques, texture and shading, lighting and camera; Key-frame, expression, scripting, MoCap;Animating modifiers, morphing; Inverse kinematics, forward Kinematics; Animating cameras and lights, postproduction and environmental effects. Textbooks and printed resources The Art of 3-D: Computer Animation and Imaging --By Isaac Victor Kerlow, its a great introduction book to 3D graphic, which covers almost entire field of 3D graphics. It shows a lot of examples from professional work, explains the basic concepts of creating models, animation, and renderings.
