Description

The professional development resources on this page were produced by faculty and staff at the USF College of Education with in-service and pre-service teachers in mind. For more information, visit the Florida Center for Instructional Technology by clicking on the link on the right side of this page. ESOL As the need increases for teachers who are well prepared to help English language learners (ELLs) succeed academically, incorporating English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) into teacher education programs has become essential. The ESOL TAPESTRY lecture series was designed to support the process of ESOL integration into a wide range of teacher preparation courses and programs. In creating the modules, we collaborated with leading experts in the teaching ESOL (TESOL) field, asking them to address fellow teacher educators regarding the most crucial information in their areas of specialization. Math PD This section includes interviews about the process of writing Florida's math standards, lesson ideas for teachers, and software guide screencasts. Make Math Matter MMM is a professional development podcast for middle school and high school math teachers. Co-hosts Colleen Beaudoin and James Welsh discuss teaching techniques, including content strategies and issues of pedagogy, regarding math instruction in grades 6 through 12.
