Description
The National Network for Safe Communities was launched by the Center for Crime Prevention and Control at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. It is a coalition of law enforcement and community leaders, service providers, mayors, street workers, scholars and others concerned about the impact of crime and current crime polices on communities. It supports member jurisdictions around the country in implementing two highly effective crime prevention strategies – the group violence strategy first launched in Boston, MA, and the drug market strategy first launched in High Point, NC. Video and audio recordings posted here are aimed at providing Network jurisdictions with assistance in implementing the strategies and introducing interested jurisdictions to the National Network and its strategies.
