Description
Millions of people around the world - especially women and children - have their lives cut short by disease and ill-health. Yet many of the problems they suffer from are relatively cheap to prevent or cure. The latest drugs to cure Malaria only cost a dollar per dose. But this is still too expensive for the poorest of the poor. How can this global health inequality be bridged? “Survival” will take you around the world, deep into the most severely affected communities, from the heart of the Congo to the slums of Manilla. These stories from the frontline in the war to achieve equal access to health for all are told by the many doctors, scientists and ordinary people who are engaged in the struggle. It’s a battle for “Survival." "Survival" is produced by Rockhopper TV for BBC World News, with backing from Imperial College, London, supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
