Composer/pianist Salvatore Gebbia was born in 1965, later attending the D Cimarosa Conservatory of Music in his hometown of Avellino, Italy as well as the Nino Rota International Academy of Music in Bari. Performing both as a soloist and as a member of assorted chamber ensembles including the Kammermusik Quintet and his own M.J. Quartet, in 1992 Gebbia founded the Wassily Kandinsky International Academy of Music, serving as its artistic director; his debut album Lifebound was issued in early 2000.
