Kolya
In 1989, occupied by the Russians, Prague is on the eve of the Velvet Revolution. Political change abounds. Middle-aged bachelor Frantisek Louka, a reknowned cellist now reduced to playing for funerals, accepts a proposition that changes his life. A grave digger offers him enough money to buy the car of his dreams if Louka will marry his Russian niece who needs Czech papers. Hiding the secret marriage from family and friends, Louka happily buys a car and prepares to continue his active bachelor life. But when his new wife suddenly emigrates to Germany to join her lover, leaving behind her 5-year-old son, Kolya, Frantisek Louka - confirmed bachelor - experiences his own personal revolution.
