another masterpiece

at first i wasn't realy convinced by the new album after i listend to the previews, but decided to get in anyway, and wow, amazing, as soon as the intro starts you get sucked into the world that is paul gilbert, especialy the way he playes a lot of different styles on this one, makes it a perfect album to listen to on a lot of occasions, when you're feeling upbeat you listen to songs like "norwegian cowbell", for more easy listening there's songs like "i cannot tell a lie" or "i still have that other girl". The masterpiece on this album would be "bultaco saturno" for me, it realy gets you going, all in all, another paul gilbert jewel

'Across the board' brilliance!

This album delivers exactly what the title suggests: a brief silence before bursting out into a high energy 'roar'... ...but it is far more than an extreme 'note per second' record-breaking shred session: this is an extremely well-composed album where Paul Gilbert combines superb technical ability with wonderful melodies into a very diverse set of compositions. Just get the album, and take some time to listen to it I'd say. This is a one-off superb album for 'guitar-music lovers'!

Metal guitar virtuoso Paul Gilbert was born November 6, 1966 in Carbondale, IL and raised primarily in Greenburg, PA; he began playing music at age five, and by age 15 was not only touring local clubs with his band Tau Zero but was even spotlighted in Guitar Player magazine alongside fellow up-and-comer Yngwie Malmsteen. In 1984 Gilbert relocated to Los Angeles to attend the Guitar Institute of Technology, becoming an instructor there the following year; concurrently he formed the band Electric Fence,...
