Albumrecensie
On This Is War, 30 Seconds to Mars shift their music with the shifting times, adopting a hybrid of the Killers’ retro new wave and My Chemical Romance’s gothic prog, winding up with a sound that suits their stance. Producers Steve Lillywhite and Flood, both veterans of U2, do give This Is War an appropriately epic scale, helping to bring into focus this mix of synth rock, metal, and prog flavors with Auto-Tuned vocals, gurgling synthesized loops, Kanye cameos, and a children's choir on almost every other song. This move toward goth-glam requires 30 Seconds to emphasize hooks and gives them aural variety, which makes this their most appealing album.

Echt een geweldig album is dit!!!
Het zijn stuk voor stuk topnummers! Ook erg gaaf is het 'koor' wat ze gebruikt hebben!!
Helemaal te gek! Het wachten meer dan waard!
Geweldig album vooral vanwege nieuwe elementen
Dit is een zeer goed album omdat er elementen van zowel hun eerste als tweede album zitten. Vooral stranger in a strange land en Hurricane zijn geweldige nummers. Voor dit album hebben ze veel nieuwe instrumenten gebruikt en zelfs boedistische monniken. Als je naar dit album luistert kom je van alles tegen: vreugde, verdriet, strijd maar ook religie en gevecht. Het achtergrond koor is trouwens 'the echelon' (de trouwe fans) en dat is over de hele wereld opgenomen dus het zijn duizende fans die je hoort zingen. Koop hem, je zal geen spijt krijgen! leuk feitje het laatste nummer L490 is geschreven door Shannon leto (drummer), ondanks dat het een instrumentaal nummer is kan je de emotie die hij wilde overbrengen goed voelen.
Een erg goed derde album!
Ik wacht al ontzettend lang op het derde album van 30 seconds en dit album is zeker het wachten waard geweest. I love it!
