The European collection Classic Aerosmith: The Universal Masters Collection shouldn't be taken as a collection of Aerosmith's biggest hits, even if it's seen as a collection that focuses only on their Geffen material. There are only a handful of songs that are actual hits here — "Amazing," "Eat the Rich," "What It Takes," "Janie's Got a Gun," "Rag Doll" — and there are an equal number from this time missing ("Crying," "Love in an Elevator," "Dude Looks Like a Lady," "The Other Side," for starters). The rest of this 18-track collection consists of album tracks and a handful of rarities. The result is a real hodgepodge that might have a few interesting rarities for collectors, but it won't satisfy any listeners just lookin' for the hits.
