About Tonic Breed

A decibel-crushing Norwegian metal unit with a deep respect for classic Bay Area Thrash, Tonic Breed invokes names like Forbidden, Heathen, Testament, and early Metallica. Formed in 2007 in the city of Sarpsborg by Bjørn Myhren and Patrik Svendsen under the name Roadkill, the band underwent some personnel changes before assuming their current moniker in 2009 and independently issuing their first studio long-player, 2010's On the Brink of Destruction. Myhren left the group the following year, and after some re-tooling, the band settled on the core lineup of Svendsen (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Rudi Golimo (bass), Mats Johansen (drums), and Thomas Koksvik (lead guitar). Tonic Breed's sophomore studio album, Outsold, dropped in the spring of 2014. ~ James Christopher Monger
