The Y.A.W.N

Just when it seemed as though BEP couldn't get any more commercial, any more poppy, any more sell-out... They just did with The E.N.D. This little pearler is full of everything I would want if I was 13, boy crazy, and had no idea that the Peas had once been fringe hip-hop legends in the late 90's. The lead single "Boom Boom Pow" is a laughable affair, as is the David Guetta produced "I Gotta Feeling". The latter is full of embarrassing shout-outs like "yeah!"... surely primed to be used for a future Coca-Cola commercial, or sell cars, or be used for a s****y Vodafone commercial.. (one rip-off company deserves a rip-off jingle). There is however, a glimmer of hope with the single "Imma Be", as the Peas hint at their former capabilities, but thats it as far as quality goes. So save your hard earned dollars and invest in Ladyhawke!

Black Eyed Peas are back!

I had high expectations for this album...and they were met (or very close too anyway!) I've always loved the black eyed peas since Fergie got involved. I brought the CD from the warehouse yesterday. And I listened to the whole thing through. Found myself singing along to it instantly. The only bad thing was that on the cd the first track, "Boom Boom Pow" has an intro as part of that same track. It goes for 40 seconds. But they're pretty much trying to send out a message that the physical sale of CD's and Albums is disappearing, and the future will just be downloading single tracks off iTunes and what not. They also say on one track that if you don't buy songs, and download them illegally, the industry will calapse. All in all, a great album, and if you were a fan of their previous albums, definitely buy this one!

SIMPLY INCREDIBLE

This has got to be one of the best comeback albums ever. ALL songs are incredible. Many from other countries' iTunes are saying two songs let it down: 'Showdown' and 'One Tribe'. Yes, these can be considered to be less great than the rest, but they certainly don't bring it down. I can't even begin to describe how great the album is. BUY IT, YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED!!!

Biography

Formed: 1995 in Los Angeles, CA

Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

The Black Eyed Peas transcended hip-hop to become one of the most commercially successful pop groups of the 2000s. Their career began modestly, with a pair of albums inspired by the positive-minded likes of A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul. After adding Fergie, the group’s pop instincts reached full flight. Ignited by the Top Ten hit “Where Is the Love?” and the Grammy-winning party anthem “Let’s Get It Started,” the group scored three multi-platinum albums in 2003’s Elephunk, 2005’s Monkey Business,...
