these sounds...
Like other Sola Rosa albums, Get it Together gives more and more with each play. The texture and beats are rich, lively, and often surprising. Often the listener's experience is transporting, there's so much colour and life here. And yet, while we travel from one place to another (was that salsa, could that be jazz, are we in a kasbah, is this Motown?...), theres an underlying rhythm that pulls and holds the album together. Get it Together is the perfect title. I'm loving it.
Another funky album from Sola Rosa
What can I say? I love this album. It blends great vocals, electronic and latino sounds, instrumental and funky beats deliciously into a collection of fab tunes. Turn Around, Del Ray and Get It Together are the tunes that get turned up extra loud and gets my foot tappin'. Sometimes you find an album that suits you down to the ground. For me, this is one of those albums. It's cool, it's funky, it's melodic. It's choice. Buy it. :)
Sola Rosa really have Got It Together
A familiar sound from Sola Rosa, but this album seems richer than the past. A long time coming but it's been worth the wait. Andrew Spraggon has brought together a unique mix of genres such as jazz, electronica, funk, soul to create a new listening experience. With so many layers within each track the listener will find themselves hearing new parts of the track with each listen. Fantastic stuff, support NZ music.
