I first bumped into Like Hurley's music on the streets of New Zealand, and despite the fact that I am a self-confessed metal head, his music and style have grown on me. This current album is a compilation of decades of output, spanning a huge range of subject matter and a dose of humour, commentary and fun thrown in.

Luke Hurley is simply an excellent guitarist who operates generally outside the music industry as a whole. There are a large range of influences in his music, giving his music a somewhat international feel, along with a folky realism that is hard to walk by. As attested by the numbers of people who can be found wherever he plays, his music draws you in and absorbs you into a story and soundscape that is delicate and multilayered.

While some tracks on this album are not my own personal taste, they are few and there are many more that really appeal. Although Luke Hurley will surely entertain, he will also give you something to think about. It is a great combination and this album gives you one heavy dose of Hurley-esque travelling.
