Description

With Fuel Watch and with the help of the user community, motorists will access to the latest fuel product prices from all over New Zealand.

Please note that as the community of users is small but growing at the moment and thus not all prices for all petrol stations are currently available.

To see prices in you area navigate the map and then long press in order to view fuel stations in that area. Or simply press the search button.

As we are relying on crowd sourced data the prices cannot be guaranteed to be always up to date.

Great idea but....

Love the idea. Difficult app to navigate. No information or FAQ. No way to add new petrol stations (there’s a new Gull Glen Eden- marked as a petrol station on the map but not acknowledged by the app) found it difficult to work out how to update petrol prices. Would love an update.

More to be done, developers and users alike

I doubt anyone would discount the value of what is being attempted with this app. However, being dependent on user contributions does make the information presented shaky. Before people complain, they should really view the app as a means of allowing individuals to share pricing information with other road users rather than trying to be an authoritative source.

The app itself could be polished a bit though. The UI is a bit unintuitive. A magnifying glass is expected to bring up a search field rather than zoom out on the map and load the station data.

It would also be good to be able to include a date for any prices entered rather than it automatically assuming the current point in time. I travel a lot and wouldn't have a problem adding prices at various stations for the previous week but would like to indicate how current they are.

Lastly, as other reviewers have commented - it would be good to add missing stations or report ones which have closed.

Overall, this app just needs to reach critical mass to succeed. If people went to the effort of updating prices whenever they filled up instead of complaining the prices were old, ratings would by much closer to 5 stars than the current level.

Has the ability to be a great App with more users.

Great App. Just needs more publicity to get more people to update prices.
Also there is a new BP at 322 Pakuranga Rd, Pakuranga Heights, Auckland 2010 which needs to be added and the BP shown at 183 Harris Road, East Tamaki, Auckland is no longer there. Also there is no Gull on Tamaki Drive, Oraki, Auckland.
I look forward to using this App in the future as amazing the price difference - upto 14c per litre in my local area.
