Awesome!

After the last update it rarely crashes on my phone with using it on Apple. I first used the wordpress free blogging option and then switched to my own website through wordpress. I just love it how easy and simple it is and how not expensive it is either. It’s affordable for me at the moment with a plan and my website host name that I bought. I absolutely love blogging! I can’t believe I haven’t founded this wonderful website earlier! Thank you to all the programmers and hard working people behind wordpress! You make it a joy to blog!

This app has never worked well for me on self-hosted instances

On a shared host environment under Stablehost, Login will sometimes fail (saying it can’t find the server) trying again once or twice, you will be able to get in. Once in, it takes extraordinarily long to populate the posts pane often never populating at all. Better just to fire up a web browser and get into the dashboard directly via the Web interface.

With an WP instance hosted on a Digital Ocean droplet. This app had performed more fluidly, the posts would populate a lot more quickly in the App, however, often random posts that you knew are there were missing from the posts listing. Editing a post, you will find that you’re more limited in functionality than what you get with the Web Interface (e.g Can’t surpress posts from the front page - served by a plugin). Again, eventually got rid of the app and simply fired up the browser to manage the WP installation instead.

Trying again today, and attempting to login to another WP instance on Digital Ocean, the App complains about XML-RPC methods missing. Googling will give you a variety of answers, often not relevant to one’s situation consuming a lot of time. After some time wasting, have just given up.

Some real issues with how user hostile this app is with regards to Self Hosted instances.
