Black Box #64 | Tribute to Gil Scott-Heron | Black Box #64 - This time round we pay tribute to the late great Gil Scott-Heron in the only way that will do him justice - playing his own music. We also check out a chunk of Jazz and electronic stuff that is well worth checking out. How apt that this show should be the number as the years in his life. I found it hard to write about him in a way that would do him justice... so perhaps this will be my way of seeing him off. Hope you enjoy. Black Box #62 (RSD Special Part 3) | Part 3 of the Record Store Day Special, this show was recorded on the 16th of April 2011 on the night of Record Store Day and features only vinyl. The show started slowly, with a few bumps and bruises but developed into a full 4hours of pure vinyl magic with everything from the Freshmen through to Flying Lotus. I am not certain of the playlist yet.. mainly because I havn't time at the moment to go through the whole show. If you absolutely must know the name of a track, comment here and I will get back to you ASAP. Hope you enjoy Part 1.... part 2 and 3 of the 3hrs and 20mins that survive from the night are on the way! When there are audio issues in this I try and fix them as fast as possible. Because of the state of my equipment I was trying to fix a million things at once.. the sound gets a lot better by the time we get to part 2 and 3... so bare with it and keep listenin... it's all live so s**t will happen!
