Earth Kind is Texas Cooperative Extension’s BANNER Program focusing on how to preserve and protect our valuable natural resources through the use of "environmentally friendly" landscape practices. The objective of Earth Kind is to combine the best of organic and traditional landscaping principles to create a system based on research, real-world effectiveness and environmental responsibility. The goals of Earth Kind are to: Reduce the volume of water used in the landscape Reduce the volume of fertilizers used in the landscape Reduce the volume of pesticides used in the landscape Reduce the volume of yard wastes entering landfills Earth Kind addresses numerous topics in the area of landscape management. As your interest and knowledge in this area grows you will have an increased awareness of the many programs, practices and activities that are Earth Kind. Working together we can make a difference in conserving and protecting our state's valuable natural resources.

This podcast is one of the best in terms of providing valuable information regarding the use of plant materials, pest control strategies, and cultural practices that accentuate a sustainable landscape. The issue of sustainability is vitally important to the lawn and garden industry and this type of information demonstrates thats Texas Cooperative Extension is on the forefront of providing cutting edge resources in this area!
