Clean2009 Emergent Village Theological Conversation, Preamble | Author and professor John Franke was invited to set the stage for EVTC 2009, which featured Jurgen Moltmann. In his comments, Franke suggested that Moltman was precisely the theologian to converse with at the start of EV's second decade because of his understanding of the theological necessity of making room for a "manifold witness" to truth. Franke's thoughts were chosen for this first post of 2011 in hopes that they might help us think through our societal propensities toward theological, ideological and political partisanship in the wake of the recent shootings of US Representative Gabrielle Gifford (Arizona) and several of her supporters. | 1/13/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Hear about Moltmann’s theological method — or how he thinks theologically and how his way of doing theology has been called “unhindered dialogue.” Important conversations are raised around denominationalism, theology in a post-September 11th world, and the diversity of ways we, as Christians, read the Bible. The conversation for this week ends with Moltmann on important philosophers, thinkers, and theologians. | 6/17/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

do some more homework
I guess like most things, take with a grain of salt those who criticize anonymously. Emergent is not a band of liberals or Democrats. I think there are many (myself included) who do not fit either of those and feel completely in line with emergent sensibilities. Calling Emergent classically liberal, like Barth, for example, greatly minimizes both emergent and Barth, as they are both much more than that. At any rate, Emergent does not seem interested in pleasing the anonymous critics on itunes, but rather on dialogue that will gather in as many different conversations as possible and seek to serve Christ in unity and truth.
Boss!
I first was introduced to emergent thought one year at the national youth workers convention when Tony and Dan Kimball taught a seminar. Sometimes I feel all alone in my corner of the 'verse, but hearing this kind of stuff keeps me encouraged. I listened to Volf while I worked out the last few weeks, and I was challenged and excited at the same time. I can't wait to see what's next. Keep it up Tony and the gang. Peace
A Lot of Fluff and Too Many Words
It seems odd to me that these guy's who talk so much about why words are poor vehicles for truth use so many of them.
