045: The No-Fluff Podcast | We may not always have an agenda filled with bullet points when we sit down to record these podcasts, but we generally will have a few ideas in our heads when we hit the record button. Not this time… What types of topics do suppose come up when microphones are in our faces and even we don't know where we're headed? Broadway musicals? IT folks? Real Housewives of New Jersey? The idea of a Geek Girls bookmobile? Thomas Edison and/or Jefferson? Yes. | 5/11/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

040: Geek Grrls | Lordy, Lordy, look who's 40! It's our "over the hill" podcast and we spared no expense with this one.....on sound effects. Because they're free. From Meghan's sister's wedding, an almost finished book, owning the term "girl" to about two seconds of a Styx song, this podcast is full of reasons to celebrate. Happy holidays! | 12/22/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Interested in hearing about our weekend at AIGA's Design Camp? Curious as to why Steve Jobs, Celine Dion and Pop Tarts are somehow all mentioned in a 30 minute podcast? Well then, this podcast is for YOU! | 10/11/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

038: The Private Island That Exists Only In Our Minds | After one final Summer trip to the lovely Geek Girls private island, this week's podcast focuses on ways to customize your online world for privacy or for fun. Examples: Pregnant but haven't told the fam yet? -Turn your Facebook wall off so your dad doesn't find out about his first grandchild via the son-in-law that he doesn't really like posting a picture of Harley Davidson baby clothes. On a friend's computer and stumble upon a long article about some body abnormality that you'd rather not discuss? -Set up a Google+ circle with no friends, co-workers or relatives so you can share things with yourself for later. (Depending on what you search for, you might want to delete the browser's history after you've successfully posted it to your page.) There are plenty of small ways to think outside the box when it comes to social media sites. Any other quick and easy suggestions for customizing your social media spaces? | 9/13/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

037: A Digital Walk Down Memory Lane | Have you heard?! Facebook is taking all of your contact numbers from your phone, posting them all over the internet and selling them to terrorist organizations around the world! Okay, so that's not entirely true, but with all of the posts on Facebook the past few weeks, you'd think Gaddafi was about to call everyone in your phone to see if he could crash with them for a few days until things settle down at home while Mark Zuckerberg laughs maniacally in his giant bed that's stuffed with $100 bills. We'll give you the rundown on the newest thing to panic Facebook users. We also discuss a few ways to back up your facebook profile and a site that lets you look back through the years of your online posts. | 8/22/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

036 Announcement and Google Plus Redux | It's the music episode and the request line is open, so give us a call and dedicate a song to that special someone in your life. Now that everyone (including commoners like Nancy) has been given access to Google Plus and has been playing around with it for a while, we look at it again with a different perspective than last time to see what benefits it could have for us. We also have an announcement that we, uh, already announced a day or two ago, so it probably won't come as much of a surprise, but we're excited anyway so we're going to announce it again. But you have to listen to find out, because we're not going to type it here. Pretty sneaky, huh? PS - To keep the announcement a surprise, you probably shouldn't look at the links below until after you listen to the podcast. Deal? | 7/29/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

034 We're Baaaaaack | You may have been asking yourself, "Where are Nancy and Meghan? Are they okay? Have they forgotten about us?" It's been a busy couple of months in the Geek Girls' world, but we finally had a chance to hop back into the podcast studio and fill you in on what's been going on in our lives. We've been traveling from coast to coast, attending conferences and spotting celebs (well, 1 celeb and a few Law & Order extras). Oh, by the way, who could take a home computer set-up and make it sound dirty? Nancy, that's who. | 6/3/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

031 Hot Mess | Anything goes when Nora McInerny walks into a room. The same can be said for this podcast. Nora originally planned on stopping by the studio this week to talk about manners and etiquette regarding Facebook friendship with family. Nora's a bit of a "wild card" though and within minutes she was dazzling us with her brilliant animal noises. Come along as we go from point A to point B while taking brief pitstops at high school proms and family get-togethers. We might even sneak a quick nap in during a story about children. | 2/17/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

030: MIMA Recap | In our 30th podcast, we discuss the process behind The Geek Girls' presentations, focusing on our recent speaking gig at MIMA where we spoke on the subject of Cultivating a User-Centered Culture. If you attended the event, you may have been asking yourself, "Why has the projector been displaying nothing but the color blue for the past 15 minutes?" or "Why are Meghan's shoes filled with snow?" Well, look no further. For the love of Bieber, we will answer those questions, plus many more right here and right now. | 1/25/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

029 Geek of the Week - Jodi Chromey | This week's Geek of the Week, supergenius Jodi Chromey, stops by the studio for a choreographed 'Pinky Tuscadero hand jive' with Nancy and to chat about her career as a writer. Jodi initially claimed to be more "nerd" than "geek", but after talking about her former life as a tech writer and then admitting to her love of Fonzie, her past blogs about Dawson's Creek and cataloging her Sweet Valley High books as a child, it became obvious that we had chosen a true geek. Jodi began writing her blog, I Will Dare, in 2000. Aside from her own blog, Jodi is the editor for Minnesota Reads and is the mastermind behind paulwesterberg.net. In this podcast, Jodi offers up advice on becoming a writer while giving us a brief glimpse into what inspires her (peanut butter and gin!), which begs the question, how did it take us this long to invite Jodi to be our Geek of the Week? | 12/21/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Conversational
I've been a listener for quite a while now. I love the laid back approach to discussing topics that I'm interested in and how Nancy and Meghan use their sense of humor(and shame) to keep me listening.
Fearless Leaders!
The Geek Girls bring the straight scoop on the digital space for the many of us who would be considered "non-technical" and they do it in a most entertaining way. Keep up the good work Ladies!!
Informational and fun!
It's great to hear there are more geeks out in the world who know a thing or two. I've been listening to the Geek Girls Guide for sometime and have enjoyed how insightful and honest they are. Keep it up!
