The two had not known each other prior being assigned this "project". What happened over the next 17 days changed both of them, what they saw, what they did, all chronicled in the book "Route 66 by Tim Steil". Ten years later on the anniversary of their Route 66 departure, the two got into a car again to try and rediscover the magic of the trip that made them life long friends. Ten years is a long time and 1999 seems like a lifetime ago. Follow Jim and Tim as they track down people and places that made their first trip so memorable. See how the people and places along a famous stretch of road have changed, grown or gone away, listen in as two old friends try to recapture the sense of wonder and awe they had on their first road trip down 66. | 6/22/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

VideoHoliday Calm ipod | 2009 was a year that had more head scratching than check cashing, headlines filled with tension, and uncertainty, and changes that will forge a new direction in almost every aspect of our lives. This was also the year I decided to dust off my film degree and start making little videos. Learning, being creative, creating, has given me a great diversion from an otherwise less than stellar year. With that I want to share a little calm that Im sure we could all use, a 7minute escape from whatever is making you tense. Footage is from travels to California, Alaska, and Tulum Mexico. Links below allow viewing on your monitor, or ipod. Have a great holiday, and lets cheer to better in 2010.-Jim Luning | 12/19/09 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoHOLIDAY CALM | Happy Holidays from Luning/Photo and Rib Bone Productions. 2010 was an interesting year. Much of it was spent hunkered down working on our first full length movie, “Route 66 – Ten Years Later” – http://www.route66tenyearslater.com It’s release in September marked a major milestone for me personally and as a professional creative. I’d like to offer everyone a sincere hope for the best in the next year and a visual and audio break from the typical “Mickey Mouse Club Member Gone Awry” Holiday album you’ve been subjecting yourself or others too. The scenery you’ll see comes from my travels to California, Colorado, Alaska and Mexico. Hope you enjoy the Holiday Calm and cheers to a wonderful new year. - Jim Luning | 12/19/09 | Free | View In iTunes

VideoHollywood To Chicago In 7 Minutes | Cross country time lapse from Hollywood CA to Chicago IL. 37 hours door to door. My Volvo V70R was equipped with a Valentine One Radar Detector, Speed Trap Waypointed Garmin, a dash mounted Canon HD Camcorder, and a 60gig Ipod. Sustained speeds of over 100mph were held for long stretches of the route, with the top speed being 130mph IN A STATION WAGON!!! Beautiful scenery and weather the whole way. The side trip to drive the Million Dollar Highway was well worth the extra 5 hours. | 10/21/09 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoRoute 66 - Part 6 | One of the challenges I put to myself on this project was making my video footage look as close to my still images as possible. You judge, but I think I'm getting closer. The interviews have the look of my portraits, the landscapes have my blue/black skies and swooping clouds. Episode 6 is a "slide show" of sorts containing snap shots, stills and video footage from basically all image capture sources I had with me. Including the Blackberry. | 10/8/09 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoRoute 66 - Part 7 | 10 years later Tim Steil gets his feet into the Pacific Ocean...10 years ago, we were two guys who were put together to do a project. Now, on the anniversary of that trip, we had set out to see what had changed along an old chunk of American highway. The surprising realization that what may have changed the most in 10 years may be the two guys who drove too fast, and too hard to get to LA trying to relive that old magical trip. | 10/8/09 | Free | View In iTunes
