Our Thoughts on Bullying | Ben, Samantha, Ronan and Amber are all Year 6 students. Like everyone else at our school, they want a school that is free of any bullying behaviour. They interviewed many students from across the school and created this podcast. It highlights for us the numerous reasons we need to work together to stamp out bullying. MOPS 1 to 1 Laptop Program | At MOPS, Years 4 to 6 kids each have a laptop that they use for learning at school and at home. We make KeyNotes about spelling rules, do creative writing tasks, make Italian comics, do maths mentals, complete comprehension activities, create movies and podcasts about various things, design campaigns warning about the dangers of tobacco and alcohol abuse, and loads of other fun stuff. MOPS Swimming Carnival | Earlier in the year we had our swimming carnival at Corrimal Pool. It was a great day and many of us were successful in gaining selection to represent the school at the district carnival. Isobel even went on to represent south coast region at the state swimming carnival and ended up finishing 8th in the breaststroke event. MOPS Disco | Year 5/6 organised a disco for the whole school and it was awesome. Joshua’s dad was the DJ and he played a lot of really cool music. K-2 had their disco first at 6.00pm and then Years 3-6 had theirs at 7.15pm. We had to organise everything; tickets, invitations, money collection, decorations, food and drinks, and publicity.
