José Argüelles: 2012 and Natural Time | Tami Simon speaks with José Argüelles, a well-known author for his role in organizing the harmonic convergence event in 1987 and for his book The Mayan Factor, published the same year. He is the founder of the Planet Art Network, the Foundation for the Law of Time, and is a contributor to the recently published Sounds True anthology The Mystery of 2012. In this interview, titled 2012 and Natural Time, Jose speaks about the significance of the year 2012 in relation to the Mayan Calendar, natural-or lunar-based time and how he believes we have the opportunity now to enter a new era of advanced mental development in which telepathy will become our primary method of communication. Really good.... except
Great except when the host interrupts the guest. We're here to hear what they have to say so please let them finish the thought, okay? It's my opinion that an interviewer should guide the guest in a direction and let them go, if they are still imparting valuable information you don't need to interrupt them unless you have a question or commercial break. Other than that I'd love to hear more on the topic of 2012, so please keep them coming!
Communion :: the mystical is personal and must be EXPERIENCED
Why is the host so grumpy? Great interviews, and great guests, I am so glad this podcast exists, but why is the host so cynical, grumpy and attacking certain guests? I don't understand why you would title your show "The Mystery of 2012" and then in complete futility bang your head against the wall getting "grumpy" that the mystery is so difficult to understand rationally. Guess what, a mystery is mysterious! They aren't meant to be understood through ration or logic. They can only be understood by letting go of the ego-self, losing one's mind, entering into the eternal space of dvinity and letting go. The mystical experience cannot be passed on or grasped through language and stories, it must be experienced first hand through personal communion or contact with the sacred. I highly recommend listening to "The Entheogenic Evolution" podcast by Martin W. Ball The sacred teachers are here and waiting for us to have ceremony with them and then we will begin to remember who we are and why we are here.
Intelligent Conversation
Finally a thorough and intelligent conversation about the pending changes of our physical and metaphysical world. These conversations dispel the idea that 2012 is somehow an impending doomsday. Rather, the focus is on change and the ability of human beings to survive both mentally and physically. We have some choices to make. Will enough people make the shift to a higher consciousness so that we may continue to evolve as a species?
