Daily MP3 Headlines 02/22/2012 | Journalists killed in Syria The ongoing violence in Syria has now claimed two very high profile victims. Sunday Times of London reporter Marie Colvin and award winning French photographer Remi Ochlik were killed in the latest round of shelling by Syrian government forces on the city of Homs. The Red Cross has asked for a temporary break in fighting to get medical and food supplies to civilians. IAEA unsuccessful in Iran After a two day visit to Iran, International Atomic Energy Agency experts say they could not come to terms on a number of unresolved issues surrounding the country's nuclear program. Most notably, Tehran barred them from visiting a military base in Parchin, suspected of being a test site for explosives related to nuclear weapons. Another round of talks is expected in the near future. Olympic terror drills in London Olympic organizers in London are taking no chances when it comes to possible terrorist scenarios at the upcoming games. On Wednesday more than 2,500 rescue workers took part in a simulated attack exercise on the subway system in central London. The drills were held at the empty Aldwych Station on Surrey Street, with police and firefighters escorting out mock casualties. Rudd resigns Kevin Rudd has relinquished his post as Australia's Foreign Minister due to an increasingly strained relationship with the country's PM. Rudd says he simply can't perform his duties without the support of Prime Minister Julia Gillard. The move doesn't come as a complete shock, given that the Prime Minister job belonged to Rudd until Gillard ousted him in the summer of 2010. US tax reforms President Obama has unveiled a sweeping series of corporate tax reforms. The proposals call for the corporate tax rate to be lowered to 28 percent, and the manufacturing rate dropped to 25 percent. Some added regulations would be thrown into the mix, however. Specifically, dozens of tax loopholes would be closed, effectively punishing companies for moving jobs and profits overseas. Shakin Bacon Oh bacon, is there anything you can't do? Jack In The Box has announced that for a limited time only, they'll be serving up bacon milkshakes! Unlike North America, Italian law allows for prosecutors to challenge 'not guilty' verdicts if a sufficient case can be made for a retrial.
