Podcast Description
They say that enlightenment is found when one is able to stop actively seeking it. Well, consider yourself one of the lucky ones because your search has reached its conclusion. The “No Nutritional Value” podcast, produced by the David Simon who didn’t write “The Wire,” takes you on a spiritual journey of self-realization/self-loathing that is confusing, yet also confusing. Please enjoy.

The Bidder End | We’re back from summer hiatus and kicking off the fall season with Evan LeVine (he’s from LA!!) to discuss how the LOST auction was in person. Just about everything that ever appeared on and off the island was for sale, except for Sayid and Shannon’s relationship, which nobody will ever buy. Then we quickly catch up with Eric Mita, who — on this very podcast — claimed he would be fired from his job roughly 28 months ago. His continued, unexplainable employment became the longest running bit in the show’s history and there appears to finally be a payoff. I changed up the format for this show, just because I have that type of authority. Evan leads off, which is then followed by a music block, before Mita sends you home with a smile. LeBlechhhhh | After our discussions on the potential free-agent signings last week, we dissect the biggest NBA paradigm shift in our liftetime, as Mike Levine, Evan McGoff and Mike Kornstein all join me to pick apart the new Unholy Triumvirate that has essentially retired to South Beach. We then get into the Knicks’ offseason, where the team is headed and why you should think twice about answering that Eddy Curry chauffeur ad on Craigslist. F**k Miami. Enjoy. | 7/10/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Rabbit, Rabbit, White Rabbit | It’s a truly historic date. One that will be remembered for decades, if not beyond. The anticipation has been heavy, the culmination rewarding. I’m of course talking about the first ever triple-team action on “No Nutritional Value” as we go conference-call style with fellow Knick fans Evan McGoff and Mike Levine to sift through all the NBA BS that has been dished out the past few days regarding the greatest free-agent class in basketball history. Will the Knicks strike out again? Is LeBron about to send Cleveland into the abyss? How much of Drew Gooden’s $32 million is incentive-based with beard clauses? All your burning questions will be answered... except if they are regarding burning urination. Sucks for you. (And me.) | 7/1/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Mita Me In The Middle | Short hiatus, over. Program is back with our constant, Eric Mita, discussing a variety of issues including his similarities to Milton Waddams, La Copa Mundial, LOST, the NBA Finals, the stupid Yankees and some other random tangents. Sucks for you that this didn’t go up prior to Lakers-Celtics, because it was pretty much the first good call I made in the postseason. Good thing I bet on it. Oh, me yelling “Parlay: Lakers money line, Celtics +6.5... BET!!!” into the atmosphere before tip-off wasn’t binding? What is this, China?? | 6/18/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

It’s Finale Here | The original, Eric Mita, comes back on to talk LOST finale. The final hours are upon us, so this scatter-brained session could even make Farraday’s head hurt. Hopefully you can connect the dots and piece our predictions together. Oh, and if “You have to lift it up” plays a major part in tonight’s episode, you all owe me 100 somethings. | 5/23/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

What Evan Did | One of my childhood buddies, Evan Le Vine, brings some LOST news to the table after attending a special event in LA. So Hollywood. We dive into where we think the story will go in these final hours and what we’re still looking for. I do warn him to tone down his Kate bashing. If he decides to label her anything but adorable, we’ve got problems. Same goes for you. I’ll have to bring him back in the next couple weeks for more discussion. Plus we didn’t even get into childhood memories — like him using up his mom’s makeup to put on blackface in a very special Boyz II Men tribute. But for now, enjoy the program and go check out his blog at www.swanfungus.com. | 5/14/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

LOSTicism | Eric Mita re-joins the show to discuss the goings on in the LOST universe. If you’re not caught up, beware: There are some spoilers along the way. There would totally be more, if not for our inability to actually figure things out. Enjoy and be on the lookout for a bonus LOST podcast this week. That just made you pee a little, didn’t it? I won’t tell... | 5/13/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

First Time Long Time | On March 23, 2009, David Simon and Eric Mita did their final show as co-hosts of Low Risk Radio 2.0 (<-- link). On March 23, 2010, they were back together as Mita joined Simon as a guest on the still unnamed podcast you see before you. The boys are talking baseball — both fantasy and actual — as well as what’s been happening in their lives for the past 12 months. It’s a tradition unlike any other. Guest No. 2 on the show, but No. 1 in your hearts, is Mike Kornstein making a less than triumphant return to the show after the boys both sucked long and hard making their NCAA hoops picks last week. So with those awful projections forgotten, listen in to what they’ve got to say about the Sweet 16 and beyond. | 3/24/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
