Customer Reviews
the S.U.C.K. Club
It feels like a group of guys, who think they know what they are talking about, casue they went to film school, just get together and try to talk about movies in an intelegent way...they are the kind of people who cant enjoy a good movie because they arent looking for entertainment, but for technial and artsy aspects. they are the people who love horible movies, because it might do something original (which is probably so unapeasing, and is a reason why it is not done in mainstream films) and probably just like going against the grain...If your a film student who lieks to pretend you know more about the entertainment buisness becuase you go to an art house theater instead of seeing movies at a real theater, then this is for you
Good podcast, minor flaws
Very educated film critics who often have smart and insightful things to say. Unfortunately, they often restrict the discussion to under 15 minutes and avoid talking about spoilers, which limits the depth of the conversation somewhat. Also, there are some audio quality problems and I often have trouble hearing the soft-spoken hosts. Still, great stuff.
Finally Online! Much Rejoicing!
THE AV CLUB is one of those sites that is deceptively simple in its premise: gather a bunch of intelligent, highly literate, vastly knowledgeable pop culture experts and have them write articles. But thanks in large part to witty, thought-provoking content and professional, media savvy journalists, THE AV CLUB has become the premiere source for any halfway intelligent person who is interested in the worlds of movies, music, books, comics, and celebrities. AV CLUB TALK has been a long-awaited addition that compliments the site perfectly. Hearing the writers chat about movies and music and what-have-you provides an excellent source of insight into pop culture that can't be found anyplace else. There are a lot of AV CLUB imitators out there, but you can't beat these guys. Looking forward to next week's episode!
