CleanCoffee Break: 64-bit | New studio setup now includes Logic Studio 2 and it works great! Took a little while to upgrade and update but oh yeshellip;. we like it a lot here in the 64-bit mode environment. If you are a Logic 8 user, it is very much worth it to move on. Allright, hear hear, good music for you: first of all we found this track by Mosaik called Imogen Heap which is a nice kick off for this Coffee Break. From France comes the one and only Alexel and we're proud to have him on the show playing two tracks from his soundtrack 'No Gravity', the PSP game out there. We already knew that New Zealand is a beautiful country and it certainly brings us excellent cinematic music performed by Crash. Mike Beaver has released one of the best series we've ever heard: Music for Films volume 1-4 are available. Everybody should get a copy and play at their homeshellip; no more stress! The same goes for a very pleasant meeting we had with D.P. Kaufman. His brand new album 'As The Ruins Falls' has a place on our iPod now and will stay there...The music can be described as dreamy and trippy, various styles combined on one album; soundtrack meets IDM, Electronica meets Ambient. File it under 'Refreshing' and 'Reload Yourself'hellip; we love it! Off the Sky offers you the deep part for this show. Finalized by Anton Kapela and Arthur Durkee playing loops and guitars that simply sound very ambient. Enjoy this show! Collecting and compiling the best music from all over the world, glue them together or bundle them like they really fit together, editing EQ and start-end points where necessary, collecting necessary information for being able to publish where to buy the records and find out more about the artist. Then: record the show and don't forget to get a big cup of coffee... After recording comes the mastering, bouncing and compression to mp3 format at 192Kbps stereo for best listening experiences and acceptable audio file size. All things on a Mac: the production of the show in Logic Studio. We also use this for bigger projects and it's the best we know. Microphone: AKG Perception 200. Alesis Audio Interface io2. Meanwhile: create shownotes for the show, that is the storyboard with time codes for all tracks. Include links to iTunes Store or the artist website, whatever is most handy for a track in particular. Shownotes need to be saved as a text file, copy/pasted this into the actual post on the Spacemusic website later but also paste to this new pdf file for the Spacemusic App on the iPhone/iPod Touch.nbsp;iTunes: add the compressed mp3 file and tag the file with all data, title, album, genre, lyrics, illustration.nbsp;Front-end listening to the entire show before uploading to the server, if there's something wrong one needs to re-open the project and filter out the error, compress it to mp3 again. Upload the mp3 file to the server. Creating the RSS post on the Spacemusic server, add tags and SEO info. Adding the 'podcast' play arrow. Adding the photo/logo for the episode. Adding the media file: the actual show mp3 that was uploaded to the Libsyn server. We also create an extra post on this se... | 6/7/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanJukebox #49 Eleon - Autumn Leaves in Motion | Eleon's real name is Michael Leon Rogers. Michael Was born in Waco, Texas in 1970. He was raised in Mesquite Texas and lived there for 30 years. He came from a home of loving parents that taught him the value of hard work and endurance. Back in 1998, Michael and his friend, graphic designer James Forbs, created Michael's Eleon name and logo from his middle name, Leon. Even though he has composed music under his real name, Eleon seems to be the name people remember and like the most. Michael, moved back to Waco, Texas and in February 2008 he was given that opportunity to compose the music of his dreams with an Apple iMac and some software. "I now feel that I can compose the way I want to with only a little inconvenience, as my iMac has limited ram and can barely give me the quality and sound I want," he laughs. Today Michael is still creating new music under Eleon. CleanJukebox #43 HIA/Biosphere - Cimmerian Shaft | Jukebox LS edition: Tromso, 70 degrees north, in the Arctic region, in the middle of the most active northern lights zone. In summer time, land of the midnight sun. In winter, total darkness. In October 1995, as part of the annual Polar Music Festival, Geir Jenssen of Biosphere and Bobby Bird of the Higher Intelligence Agency, were commissioned by Nor Concerts to collaborate together on a musical project to take place in Geir's home town of Tromso, Norway. The brief was for them to perform three concerts, using sounds sourced from the area as the basis of the music - the machinery of the local mountain cable lift, the snow, the ice etc... The performances from which this recording is taken, took place on top of a mountain above Tromso, in a cabin reached by the cable car, in which the audience were transported up the mountain in turn. First release: 1996 on Beyond, limited edition 5000 pieces. Reissue: 2003 on Headphone. The Jukebox plays with kind permission of (HIA) Bobby Bird (that's so cool!!!!) the opening track 'Cimmerian Shaft' which sets the tone for this album, a musthave in your ambient collection. CleanJukebox #42 Thomas Lemmer - Missing You Badly Brother | From Niedersachsen, Germany: Thomas Lemmer's Lounge music Project. "Mein erstes Solo Album wird ein Chillout - Lounge Album sein. Die Idee dazu kam mir Anfang 2007, als ich anfing mit meinen alten analogen Synthesizern zu experimentieren. Ich verarbeitete sphauml;rische Flauml;chen mit sehr langsamen Drumloops und improvisierte uuml;ber die Harmonien. CleanJukebox #40 Low Energy Center - Good To See You | Making music since he was 15 years old, Mark de Jong studied sonology at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and it was a couple of years later when he launched the 'Low Energy Center'. A way of hiding from the high-energy world outside and re-load in the low-energy center. His inspiration to start making ambient music had to do with a dance party back in 1992; at his friend's place (*TC*) he heard this album by Locust called 'Weathered Well'. TC played the best tracks from this album during this non-stop ambient afterparty which was born early in the morning in Harmelen, near Utrecht. Mark got hooked and from that moment in time, ambient music has become a way of living for him. Ambient Island is one of his latest projects where his music can be downloaded and can be donated for. Visit Ambient Island here. The Jukebox plays the title song from his album 'Good To See You' and is also available on the iTunes Store, Amazon MP3, Rhapsody and Sony Connect. The music is timeless and deserves a very close listen on a regular basis; Feel free to de-compress and re-load yourself in the Low Energy Center! CleanJukebox #39 Monolake - Darkest Star (RMX) | Robert Henke, born 1969, is a composer, sound designer, software developer, installation artist and performer. His music has roots in academic sound research as well as in club culture, and the result is a body of work that is sophisticated yet accessible. Robert Henke releases music under his own name and as Monolake; his performances and interactive installations have been shown at places like the Tate Modern in London, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, MUDAM in Luxembourg, and the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney. Robert is one of the authors of the Ableton Live music software, and teaches as professor for sound design at the University of Arts in Berlin. Remixing Depeche Mode 'Darkest Star': Robert: "I have no fixed scheme. I am looking for an idea, something unique which guides me thru what ever comes next. In the case of Darkest Star it was the lyric". It still sounds like a Depeche Mode track! Robert: "Yes. And it makes me incredibly happy to hear this. It might not be the best Depeche Mode track ever, but at least it has some of the color...and as I said earlier in this interview, color is quite important to me. I think much more in colors then in song structures" Did you ever get any feedback on the remix from the band at all? Robert: "No. unfortunately not." CleanJukebox #38 Between Interval - Three Years Ago | The Edge of a Fairytale is an ambient excursion to inner and outer spaces. Inspired and influenced by ancient myths, legends and places, this album is my soundtrack to the world as we perceive it; balancing between the known and the unknown - on The Edge of a Fairytale. "...the deep, rich and mystifying sound that resides on The Edge of a Fairytale has a somewhat dark point of view. However it is not a darkness of evil, but rather one that dwells within the uncharted realms between truth and fiction; a darkness representing an unknown that we travel through while always optimistic that there is light - or enlightenment - to be found somewhere ahead." CleanJukebox #37 Satori - Forest Surround | Anjey Satori was born on April 6, 1969, in the Ukraine. Anjey was interested in mysticism and esoteric teachings of the East from his early years. He worked as an organizer of special courses and seminars at the Institute of Nontraditional Medicine and has had enough experience to teach the basics of bioenergy and healing. The pseudonym "satori" (insight) Anjey thought of while practicing meditation and yoga. Once the "expansion of conscious" happened and there was an experience of "satori" described in classical Zen-Buddhist texts. The feeling of inner light and bliss lasted for several days. It was the meeting with his innermost Self. Anjey Satori's music is intended for meditation, healing and anyone travelling an inner journey. Each composition creates a harmonious balance of music and spirit. CleanJukebox #36 Dia-Mantra : Contemplation One | "Daydreams. What is truth, what is illusion? Perspectives mingle in the haze. Split ego. The other voice is silent but cannot be denied. It demands ecstasy, for it wants to know whether God still loves it.nbsp;Caress me, oh dawn" ELA BERGMAN #38; CHRISTOPH GRACIAN SCHUBERT: Both live and work near Munich. CGS studied classical guitar and spent many years working as a studio musician, producer and film composer. In addition to his work as film musician with classical film scores he has been working for over 20 years on experimental compositions and sound art. Together with the trance singer ELA BERGMAN he is working on the new music project entitled DIA-MANTRA. Electronic music combined with highly hypnotic archaic trance chants is the salient feature of this particular music project. CleanJukebox #35 *TC* - Impact LNB | From Holland comes today's artist *TC* - It all started when he was like 7 years old and heard this tape with music by Jean-Michel Jarre: the Oxygegrave;ne album. It was recorded by his neighbour and friend Robert. It just went on and on from that moment in time... TC bought himself one synthesizer-based record after another. Other music was irrelevant from his perspective... Though during his childhood he used to listen to very melodic songs as well, collected by his parents; on a regular day he would hear Neil Diamond, James Last, Barbra Streisand, some Arne Janssen during birthday parties and even this Dutch band 'BZN'. We're talking the livingroom now. Back in his own room, TC would play his vinyl collection and listen to the radio. During the 80's his favorite radio show was the 'CD Show' hosted bynbsp;Wim van Putten. But also 'The Soul Show' with Ferry Maat and 'In The Mix' by Ben Liebrand on friday nights at Veronica radio station. [ad#post-ad] His vinyl collection in those years: Peru, Jarre, Vangelis, Klaus Doldinger, Tangerine Dream. When the first CD's were launched TC was at the 'Capilux' store and bought his first one: Klaus Schulze 'Body Love'. His first electronic music CD ever... TC studied Sonology at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, NL. In 1994, TC was the first Dutch conservatory student to graduate on a live dance music performance, held at the Sonic Acts Festival in Paradiso, Amsterdam. He was in a band at that time called 'Normally Invisible'. They made one album and it was released on Staalplaat Records, Amsterdam. Genre: ambient/trance. In his own studio TC worked on a solo project, the 'Atlantic Treasure' album. It wasn't released until years later when the iTunes Store was getting popular. There's no physical release but one never knows what the future might bring. From this album the jukebox plays 'Impact LNB' - inspired by the Nord Lead synth, samples from SciFi movies, the wonderful theme of 'La Double Vie de Veacute;ronique' (Zbigniew Preisner) and his big Persian love from Isfahan, both were born on the same day.nbsp;File it under 'what suits you' or 'never to be deleted'. It's intriguing and cinematic and it even makes the artist wonder whatever happened to making music... CleanJukebox #34 Off the Sky - Cold Distances | Since Jason Corder decided that becoming a weather man was farcely over-rated, he coined the ambiguously fitted moniker 'Off the Sky' which was in reality birthed in transit of his experimenting with converting chaos theories (especially those relating to weather systems*) into musical forms. And really its just an apropos title summating this atmospheric and acoustic communal project emanating from his studio in Kentucky ergo USA. Offthesky is truly a humble handle that reflects both Jason's mild manered nature and his "in-the-clouds" mind-set when relating to others. His musical miasmatic manifestations are loosely inspired by chaos theory mathematics, dark foreboding jazz, and various natural substances... The Jukebox plays "From Cold Distances to a Warm Place". Like more of his tracks, this one can be seen as 'glue' between other tracks, creating the perfect sound bath, the perfect moments, the movie directed by Jason Corder a.k.a. Off the Sky. CleanJukebox #33 Biosphere - Microgravity | Biosphere is the main recording name of Geir Jenssen (born 1962), a Norwegian musician who has released a notable catalogue of ambient and electronic music. He is well known for his 'ambient techno' and 'arctic ambient' styles, his use of music loops and particular samples from sci-fi sources. His track 'Novelty Waves' was used for the 1995 campaign of Levi's. His 1997 album 'Substrata' was voted by www.hyperreal.org as one of the all time classic ambient albums. [ad#post-ad] Biosphere regularly performs live during electronic music festivals and in clubs throughout Europe and various other locales around the world. Live performances usually consist of Jenssen performing improvisations or variations on newer tracks on a laptop while video art is projected behind him. In 2008 Jenssen announced a year-long break from touring due to his reported hatred of 'airports, security checks, unhealthy food, air conditioning, hotels, etc.' However he resumes concert activity in 2009.... Today's Jukebox track is the first track we ever heard from Biosphere. We go back to 1992... it's the timeless 'Microgravity' with many thanks to 'Origo Sound'. CleanJukebox #32 Solar Cycle - Viento | Solar Cycle has been making music for over 9 years now in various styles and under several aliases. It all got started during the 90's when he experienced music production and DJ sets. After moving to London a few years ago he (name unknown) met interesting people who helped him to understand the beauty of making music on a PC (perhaps it's time for the Mac soon?) After a few years of studying music and composing, dance and techno stuff, trance productions, the Solar Cycle project really got started. A style that he refers to as "Summer Cocktail of Chillout House, Electronica and Ambient". CleanJukebox #28 Anawaty+Russell | Cass Anawaty has been involved with music for over 20 years. As a guitarist he has studied with fingerstyle legend Alex DeGrassi, Flamenco purist Mark Taylor, and renowned Jass performer/instructor Don Latarski. His years of work as a musician and composer led him to found Sunbreak Music LLC in 2002 as a platform for media composition and production. British born Paul has loved music since earlier than he can remember. He was brought up on a strict diet of Edie Cochran, the Beatles and the Tamla Motown sounds of the sixties. He soon settled on the bass guitar as his instrument of choice and, although he can scratch out a rudimentary tune or two on the six string and the piano, he still maintains his love for the engine room of the band, the link between the rhythm that drives and the melody that charms. [ad#post-ad] The album 'Monjour' is the first of a planned series by Cass and Paul. Imagine: one lives on the West Coast of the USA, the other in Singapore. Lots of guests appear in their production as you can read on the dedicated site of the album. 'Monjour' is the result of working remotely in their studios and 8000 miles apart.... The Jukebox plays 'Sunset over Manda Valley' (Jehanna Phares Hakime, recitation). Words from the booklet: Monjour does not compete in the loudness wars. It has been mastered to preserve the dynamics and excitement of the original mixes. Therefore, for maximum aural pleasure, we advise you to turn it up REALLY FREAKIN' LOUD. CleanJukebox #23 Gulan | Gulan was born in Latvia in 1974. In fact, Gulan is a pseudonym. He was interested in music and showed his musical talents during the childhood itself. His first dabbling with instrumental music was through piano in a music college. Later he learnt keyboard and synthesizer through private lessons. After that he got plenty of opportunities to show his raw talent through electronic synthesizers. This experience made him a master of electronically generated music and sounds. [ad#post-ad] Gulan made the full use of his experience when he launched his first album at the age of 19; later he formed a band in his own name, which became synonymous with 'space music'. He also founded a music studio called Gulan Music Studios in Latvia. His music has been broadcast from radio stations of various countries including the USA, the UK, the Netherlands (Spacemusic.nl) , Australia, and South Korea. The Jukebox plays a track called 'Return Home part 2' and it's taken from the album 'Cassiopeia' sent to us by Gulan himself. A wonderful electronic/new age album that is really timeless. CleanJukebox #21 Rymdlego | We go way back, shortly after we initiated the Spacemusic podcast we stumbled upon this track 'I realize'. Later we found out about the fact this track was performed by Mosaik from Sweden, under a different name. Translation of the Swedish 'Rymdlego' comes near some sort of 'Space Lego'. So let's play! Other performing names from the same artist: Radix, Mosaik. Who is he? It'snbsp;Jakob Svanholm and he comes from Sweden. His musical skills play an important role in the ambient/electronic music scene. Yes, Spacemusic calls this artist a legend already... [ad#post-ad] If I could gather all the stars and hold them in my hand, the colors I would then possess would not be half as grand as those which I have seen when I look deep into your eyes, or come across when I have kissed your lips, I realize. If I could ponder all the truths men sought since time began, they would not teach me more than if I were to touch your hand For truth to no one you have touched appear as simple lies And nothing could be truer than your touch, I realize. If I were given lasting life as only God could do, I'd shun it all and turn away, if I could live with you. For even God has never known the immesurable size Of the love that's within your heart, I realize. CleanJukebox #19 Deborah Martin and Erik Wollo | Deborah Martin's passion is to visualize and create music that takes each listener on a journey through time and space. With a vivid imagination and a deep love of historic places and peoples of the past, we see her as being blessed; for they are few, those visionaries, who can bring forth into the present, and into our hearts, the spirit of that which has been so utterly lost in antiquity. Erik Wollo grew up in a small mountain village in Norway where his ancestors have lived and farmed for hundreds of years. Weaving through this exotic and timeless landscape of snowy peaks and deep valleys, you can still hear the music of those centuries flowing through a people whose culture is deep, alive and thriving. [ad#post-ad] Here we are: the Jukebox plays the title song of the album "Between Worlds" performed by these two great ambient artists. Deborah shares some insight into the essence of the work, "The American Indian believes there are two worlds - the world of spirit and the world of form. Creating a bridge between the two worlds are ritual, healing and magic. The music process presented here was created to represent with sound this bridge between the worlds." Erik adds, "It is important to hear the voices of the past and how they lived in tune with the rhythm and spirit of the earth. With Between Worlds, we delved deeply into the experience, capturing the feeling of this American Indian heritage with sounds and compositions." CleanJukebox #15 Solar Cycle | Solar Cycle has been making music for over 9 years now in various styles and under several aliases. Solar Cycle has produced 3 full-length albums: Silver Lights, Sunlight and Flare.nbsp; The Jukebox plays a track from the 'Silver Lights' album and it is called 'Sunrise'. For us this track has this kind of 'Tangerine Dream' mood and an enormous amount of cinematic potential, beautiful vocal adding and lovely guitar sample. Esem is currently working on a new album, we assume, as his website shows TBA for 2009.... The Jukebox plays 'Dispehrse' from the Scateren album; the first time we heard this track we were amazed by the hi-quality production level, the intense bass line, the wonderful depth and 3D experience! If you ask us Esem should release his work via the iTunes Store for example as Scateren is a diamond in the electronica genre, much better than lots of 'average' ambient/electronica/IDM albums out there. We ask you to post comments here at spacemusic.nl nbsp;and make it clear this is a super release and it should be up there in the cloud on iTunes by a single mouse-click instead of the download hassle, right? CleanJukebox #10 Xerxes | Xerxes (reigned 486-465 BC), a king of Persia, made an unsuccessful effort to conquer Greece in 480-479, suffering a major naval defeat at the Battle of Salamis. Xerxes was the son of Darius I and Atossa, daughter of Cyrus I. When Xerxes succeeded his father, Egypt was already in revolt and troubles soon broke out in Babylon; further, there was still pending the matter of the Greeks, where the Persian defeat at Marathon called for vengeance. He crushed the revolts in both Egypt and Babylon with great severity, not sparing even the gods, and then turned to the conquest of Greece. And now more about the ambient artist Xerxes...;-) It was hard to find more info, even his Myspace site doesn't show much at the moment of writing this post, but here's something worth knowing about: Xerxes, also known as Klaus Lunde, was born in 1973 in the southern parts of Norway. At the age of 14, he started producing music using an Amiga 500. In 1996, after having gone through various experiments and compositional phases, he finally arrived at a style he could call his own. Since then, Klaus has spent most of his time developing this sound. He is currently living in Toslash;nsberg, Norway He is a deeply respected ambient artist and has played alot of festivals the last years, both as a dj and with his band "Xerxes Live".' The Jukebox plays 'Can You See This?" from his album "The Mirror Formula". Originally offered as a free download, released in march 2006. Re-mastered edition is now available from his website. CleanJukebox #9 Peru | PERU was a Dutch Synthesizer band, started in 1979 with Peter Kommers and Ruud van Es. They used their first names to make the name of the band. Rob Rapen also joined the band and Jos van de Dungen was involved in this project later on. Besides the name PERU they also used the name NOVA for their more commercial work. The single like 'Aurora' was in the charts those days! The music by Peru can be described as 'new age' or 'electronic'. File it under 'synthesizer' if you will. Back in 1998, Michael and his friend, graphic designer James Forbs, created Michael's Eleon name and logo from his middle name, Leon. Even though he has composed music under his real name, Eleon seems to be the name people remember and like the most. Michael has had a few toy keyboards since 1987 and one professional low end keyboard (Korg N-364) back in 1998. He said he always felt like he could compose better if he just had the right gear. Michael has since moved back to Waco, Texas and in February 2008, he was given that opportunity to compose the music of his dreams with an apple imac and some software. "I now feel that I can compose the way I want to with only a little inconvenience, as my imac has limited ram and can barely give me the quality and sound I want," he laughs. Today Michael is still creating new music under Eleon and has composed 115 tracks since 2008. Michael believes that if you don't create and or write from the heart, you are not being true to yourself and the world loses out on the art and storytelling that we all need to keep moving on to wonderful worlds and dreams ahead.nbsp;"I thank God and my parents for their love and support and friends who believed in me."nbsp;Michael L. CleanSenseo® Sundays ::: Mylène Farmer LIVE 2009 ::: | It has been quite an experience 'incroyable' ! Mylene Farmer LIVE is beyond words; again she has touched me very deep. This time.... front row experience. Hard to explain, it's a feeling, it's a walking dream, it's something unique. This podcast is dedicated to Mylegrave;ne, her music, her unique live performance. The trip was a serious one.... and for Mylegrave;ne it was her final concert of the 2009 tour. Log: departure by train from Rotterdam Lombardijen @12:40pm. Dordrecht station @13:00. Change line for the next train: IC Hispeed to Brussels MIDI/ZUID. Arrival in Brussels @14:40. I decided to walk the last bit from the station to the hotel; next time I will definitely take the subway! It turned out to be a 15 minutes climbing up the hill task! Finally.....arrival at the hotel @15:15. After relaxing and unpacking the bag I recorded a soundseeingtour as featured on this podcast episode. Brussels on that particular friday afternoon was noisy and messy! Hate to say it but the chaos and noise in this city caused a typical impression. (...tout est chaos!) I've been in London and Paris but somehow these cities seem to have 'structure' and 'manners', unfortunately Brussels didn't show these features too much... People disliked speaking English to me. They simply hesitated. I was better off speaking Dutch in some cases. Don't get me wrong but Brussels is the headquarters of Europe isn't it? (Say that again while stores are closed on sundays) Saturday morning: alarm clock set @7:30AM. American Breakfast in the hotel was good. Left the hotel for my trip to Stade Roi Baudouin via subway. Arrived at the SRB station @9:30. I realized to get cash money for the official merchandizing t-shirts etc. later that day so where was the cash machine...? I asked around and was directed to the nearest bank at app. 2 km's from where I was! Not very practical isn't it? Welcome to Belgium. Ah well, good for some sweat and tears. Back at the stadium 'blue entry' around 11:00AM. Already like 30/40 people waiting for the doors to open up and I joined them. The sun was shining! Life was good! Some drinks, some sandwiches that I got on my way from the bank back to the stadium. Green light for entering the stadium area @1:30PM. Here we were able to buy lunch, water, beer etc. Soundchecking we could hear as the concert area was real close now...The waiting was till 5:00PM when the final gate to the concert area would open. And it did! Right on time... exactly 05:00pm we were running to our places!!! Literally, running!!! How cool is that??? Yess!!! Front row. Cat walk. All set. I was in !!! @8:00pm the program started. Excuse me but I've forgotten the name of the drum band that had their pre-concert performance. Just like me I saw many people staring and being nervous just before the real thing....We wanted Mylegrave;ne! Waiting again. Eventually Mylegrave;ne kept her fans waiting till app. 09:30PM (!) when her eyes watched us from the bigggg screen. The show was starting....with the introduction. And that is an understatement; Thrilling opening! I will never ever forget her eye watching from the screen and the lasers that literally were 'shot' from the screen into the public, a 3D experience I had never seen before! The sound was beyond words. And I've heard a lot of sound systems in my life.... this one was f a n t a s t i q u e . Everybody (including me) was screaming and yelling, such a mind blowing lift-off. The concert from there can be described as a non-stop walking dream, Mylegrave;ne took her fans on a journey, a journey that came from her mind, her soul, her dreams and was performed in a stadium filled with the 40,000 people audience. Acoustic parts of the show, she had entered the center of the catwalk via the underground like the pianist did too. The songs they performed now...I can hardly describe it but let me try: moving and intriguing moments, confusion and joy, tears on all of our faces; 'Point de Suture' and the clip on t... | 9/21/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanSenseo® Sundays ::: Strom Noir ::: | Relaxation day....great coffee (from the Nespresso machine) and a bit of healing with fantastic ambient music from Slovakia. Via the postal we received an album from Emil Matko; he started Strom Noir in the beginning of 2007. We experienced the album 'Luvyoo' as a welcome treatment: super ambient, just take the time to switch that knob inside your head, don't think but breathe in and out, the two tracks we play on this show really have that captured mood: "Nothing Really Happens" feels like the earth stands still and we're watching ourselves from a distance. Second we visit the "Heartland" where past and present meet and greet. Where past and present meet and greet: Luvyoo gets 5 out of 5! Some notes from the Strom Noir Myspace site: ...Music of Strom Noir flows between slow ambient and minimal electronic sounds with using electric and acoustic guitar loops and synths as a basis integrated with field recordings and various abstract sounds. The result of this mixture are the minimalistic atmospheric soundscapes strongly touched by the melancholy. CleanSenseo® Sundays ::: UtopiaXO ::: | If there was a place where we can live in peace, a place where we all love eachother and we all have the time to listen to one another, one of our greetest needs, that place would be called: Utopia. Welcome to UtopiaXO produced by Dave Hesketh. Start listening to "The Light" and you won't be able to stop anymore, you want to hear this one from beginning till end and forget about your mobile phones and appointments... It's a wonderful story which will take you by surprise, it's crystal clear audio quality is stunning! It's 'live' feel is impressive. The samples and surround recordings really become one with the music. Beautiful music and subtle vocals. One of the best ambient/new age albums avalaible at this moment. UtopiaXO "The Light" - ambient music was born - This album started its life in the late summer of 2007. I was sat in the studio experimenting with a midi guitar. After playing for 20 minutes I noticed a feedback loop had started within the music - it was a beautiful, inspiring sound that meandered along - seemingly in control of itself. An hour later the whole structure for this album was mapped out through utilising this feedback technique. You can hear this original sound throughout the album. In fact, it's the first sound you'll hear on 'The Light'. I then, by chance, met Jacqueline Barr. She explained to me that our home and the studio (in our garden) sat on a sacred and special site. It was thought that the studio may lie right in the path of a powerful earth energy line - sometimes called lsquo;leylines'. I immediately knew that I had tapped into this energy that summer morning when I had sat down with the guitar. So earth ambient music was born. I very much believe sincere music taps into the life energy force more than any other art form. I hope and believe that this magical place has now found an expression in a small but sincere way through this music. I also hope this magical energy finds its way to you as you experience the energy of nature that will fill your room as you listen to UtopiaXO - Dave Hesketh. May, 2009. CleanSenseo®Sundays ::: Forma Tadre ::: | This sunday morning the City of Rotterdam was grey and misty... for a moment we thought we're gonna see Autumn Leaves here! Such moments we dive into the archives of our music collection. Today we found: Forma Tadre. It has been on our minds to play on the podcast for years now. We had to play and record the music from a mini-disc to Logic first and now it's here on the Senseo Sunday podcast. This album "Automate" can be filed under Experimental Ambient, Industrial Ambient. Brings back memories - "music that I first heard on a local radio station in 1995 in The Hague, TC" - It's not exactly dinner music, it brings us dreamy and hypnotic loops and sounds, play @ high volume! CleanSpecial: David Leckenby interview | In the middle of London, just before what would be the announcement of the Tube Strike. Arrival London last Sunday June7th late afternoon, walking to the hotel via Kings Cross. Hotel fine but room not ok, enormous continuous loud noise in the pipes of the bathroom made it impossible to get some sleep! Earlier that night kindly for another room, did not get it because the hotel was 'full'. Later that night changed our tone a bit and insisted on getting another room, and so another room was available all of sudden. Rest of the week, perfectly fine in this bigger and most of all - quiet - room without extra costs. Super! The WiFi sucked but luckily there was BTopenzone. Up the hill we arrived in Islington. Special place for special people; our meeting with David Leckenby @ the EnlightenNext headquarters. Started off with a 45 minutes meditation session which was very enjoyable and at the same time a rare and remarkable first meeting with someone we've only had contact with via e-mail untill that moment in time: David Leckenby. CleanLondon Walkabout | Hia! How RU doing? June 10th 2009: LIVE from the Russell Square park it's time for an overview of the London Walkabout we did today. Tube strike so the best option was to go walking. Man! I need a new pair of shoes....! Because of this tube strike there's an enormous amount of traffic in the streets of London. Taking the bus was therefore not any good as walking was much faster. Now that I'm relaxing @ Russell Square I really appreciate the green areas in a big city like London.... There are a lot of green parks, some of them really big like Hide Park and the Kensington Gardens, some of them smaller like Russell Square and Gray's Inn Garden. They all have one thing in common: get away from the daily stress for a few minutes, having your lunch, feeding your baby, lying down and take a nap, anything you'd like basically. After that you just carry on with what you were doing before feeling a bit refreshed now. Ah.... and one tip if you're allergic to heavy traffic sounds: please do wear around-the-ear fit headphones with some great tunes!!! Once you wear these you'll be amazed how many people are wearing them too, it's cool as! ~TC [caption id="attachment_835" align="aligncenter" width="576" caption="Russell Square Garden Chillout"][/caption] nbsp; Music in this episode is performed by Nova Nova and Darshan Ambient. nbsp; | 6/12/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanSenseo® Sundays ::: Saul Stokes ::: | Packaged in a wood case: the limited edition of Saul Stokes 'Metacollage'. A true soundscape album, electronic and experimental trips combined with beautiful melodies, well balanced over the whole frequency line sort of speak. We love the music by Saul because it sounds so pure, it's simple and yet so very complex when one analyses the music minute by minute. A very talented artist who surprises us every time again with an outstanding production. The album is also for sale in MP3 format via most online stores out there. We'd appreciate it if you'd send a message to Saul after hearing this show, thanks! CleanSenseo® Sundays ::: Planet Boelex + Lisas antenna ::: | Excuse me.... it's May31st and sometimes we simply malfunction on what day it is.... Let's have a cup now: Remastered edition of the Planet Boelex album "Little World" is available! We got the message some time ago and just had to put on a show featuring this fantaaastic re-release. The difference between this one and the older version? One could say it's a difference between day and night but let us put it into the right perspective here: The vocals by Lisa's Antenna are sounding much warmer and more subtle than before. The overall mix is a much better balance between high and low frequencies, the compression from before especially in the high range has gone... "Are You There" is now like she's sitting next to you, "Fall" has turned into a warm blanket. Once you start playing the tracks you only want to pump up the volume and really dive into this Little World and stay. Mastering act by Christopher Leary. Spacemusic gives him best compliments! nbsp; Senseoreg; Sundays ::: Planet Boelex ::: (04:49) - Planet Boelex/Lisa's Antenna - Are You There? CleanSenseo® Sundays ::: Between Interval ::: | You know what?... Let's leave the world for a couple of minutes and enjoy this coffee break more than ever! Why don't we fly to the edge of the unknow/known, why don't we experience 'The Edge of a Fairytale' by this great artist from Sweden: Between Interval. They did it again! Hi quality music from one of the most beautiful countries up North from our perspectives. Between Interval is Stefan Strand; he started playing around with sounds at the age of 14, inspired by Jean-Michel Jarre and the SEGA master system for instance. Later releasing house, trance and progressive music under a different name. The ambient motto never left Stefan: The Spotted Peccary label had an excellent nose for his style! They released his albums 'Radio Silence', 'Secret Observatory, 'Autumn Continent'. Stefan got 'top pick' album @ Amazon, Top List for new age in 2006 and 2007. On today's show we play 3 tracks in a row from his latest new ambient adventure sent to us by Spotted Peccary themselves: "The Edge of a Fairytale". Tracks are simply deep... (sounds from the woods and the rain are not included on the album!) There's a mystical tone, some might say: nbsp;-dark- ? Well, that is 'dark' in the sense of 'not knowing what to expect'. Stefan invites us to experience what we know and what we don't know at all.... Are you in? Enjoy the music, enjoy the recipe. CleanSenseo® Sundays ::: CRASH ::: | It's now already May 10th 2009 and we're on a countdown for the June Holidays... but first: let's have a fresh cup of coffee shall we? Meanwhile: good photos have been added to our photostream: the Calatrava bridge transport through Rotterdam. A great Santiago Calatrava Valla designed item. Click the Flickr link at the right sidebar for full details. Images go well with music right? Let's introduce our artist for today; We're proud to present: CRASH from New Zealand. His album series: Music for Film. When we first visited his Myspace site and listened to a couple of his tracks: bingo! This music just had to be on the podcast; good quality soundtrack music, high production level, touching melodies mixed with cinematic soundscapes. We can also tell you: we're gonna hear a lot more from Crash in the near future. More information via his Myspace site and for this occassion we've copy-pasted from his site to ours... CRASH is born Mike Beever winter of 1969 in the north of England. At a very early age he is introduced to music through his father, a church organist and his mother a keen 'New Seekers' fan!He develops an interest in uplifting and soaring music through his love of the great composers in particular J.S Bach, Handel, Mozart and Beethoven but it is when he comes ear to ear with film and music that the potent mix strikes a chord. Throughout his teenage years he begins a love affair with sound synthesis aquiring his first synths at age 14 and going on to start experimenting with sound and recording throughout these years. After many years travelling he settles in London and takes position as house engineer at Station Studios and goes on to produce successful LPs, Eps and singles for Coldplay, Seafood, Tiny Too and Fierce Panda Records. CRASH moves to the north of England, Spain and eventually New Zealand in the Spring of 2003 where he lives and works. The next few years begin to take his music to a whole new level and with less distraction and more time he begins to mould his very own brand of music. 'Film Soundtrack Electronica' is the nearest description to what now is produced from the Lodge Studios. Often simple pieces beginning with the piano grow into full orchestral soundscapes only suitable for wide expanse and a wide imagination by the listener. Across the world CRASH is heard by a wide variety of people. He touches emotions through his music and the journey is only just beginning... Play it loud! You won't regret. And your neighbours will be friends for life.... Amaretto Iced Coffee Creamy enough to be a milkshake, but with the smooth almond flavour of Amaretto. What could possibly go better with an afternoon of BBQ. Ingredients: 3 cups coffee, cold 2 cups vanilla ice cream 1 cup milk 1/4 cup Amaretto 2 tsp vanilla 1 tsp almond extract Crushed ice Preparation: Combine everything except ice in a blender and whip until smooth. CleanSenseo® Sundays ::: SINE ::: | Have another sip now... the 15 minutes coffee break with excellent musical taste today! Last week the temperature was rising till 20 degrees Celsius - spring time in Rotterdam together with a post from Germany by our friends from Sine-Music; their new compilation album Cosmic Chill Lounge volume 3 will be released on May 1st 2009. Cosmic Chill Lounge 3 will be available as a limited edition CD or as a digital download via several stores. Please visit the SINE website for more details. Summer can come again...!!! "Spanish coffee" - Its sometimes referred to as "Mayan coffee" or "Flaming coffee". The ingredient list consists of the following: A shot of Rum A shot of Brandy Coffee A dash of cinnamon and nutmeg Sugar Heavy cream Tablespoon of Kaluha Lime wedge Whole orange for pouring Brandy Some preparation is necessary. An un-ripened orange is peeled in a corkscrew fashion. Glass mugs are used for the coffee, and prepared by being dipped first in lime wedges, and then in sugar, to coat the rims. An ounce of Rum is added to each mug. An ounce of Brandy is added to each glass next, but not without a show. The Brandy is added to one of two stainless-steel pouring containers. The Brandy is then lit on fire, the flaming alcohol is poured back and forth several times, and then distributed in equal amounts to each of the coffee mugs. The other half of the flaming Brandy is saved for later. A mixture of cinnamon and nutmeg are then shaken into each container, which causes sparks to fly from the still-flaming brandy. Coffee is then poured into each mug, which should extinguish the flames. A spoonful of heavy cream is then added to each container. The remaining Brandy goes on last, but not without another fiery show. The remaining flaming Brandy is now poured down and around the corkscrew of the orange that was peeled in the first stage. Cut-up lime wedges are then placed on each serving plate. The mugs are then placed on the serving plates with the lime wedges. A flaming tablespoon of Kahlua is set on top of each drink. Finally, the lime wedge is squeezed onto the flame just before serving, aggravating and then extinguishing the final flame just before consumption. Starbucks shuts 300 more stores... Thousands of baristas are to lose their jobs as Starbucks shuts stores to cope with dwindling sales of lattes, cappuccinos and frappuccinos as cash-strapped consumers lose their thirst for coffee. The Seattle-based chain tonight revealed a 70% slump in quarterly profits to $64.3m and announced that it intends to shed 6,700 employees this year. It is closing 300 stores, two thirds of which will be in the US, on top of 660 shutdowns last year. As the global economy turns sour, appetite for Starbucks' premium-priced drinks appears to be waning. Like-for-like sales fell by 10% at American stores and dropped by 3% elsewhere in the world - including a decline in the UK during the three months to December. Starbucks' chief executive, Howard Schultz, is joining in the belt-tightening by asking the company's board to cut his basic salary from $1.2m to $10,000. Schultz, 55, dropped off Forbes' list of the world's billionaires last year as the value of his stake in Starbucks plunged. In a statement, Schultz blamed the "weakening global consumer environment" for Starbucks' problems. He said the company was following a "well developed plan to strengthen our business through more efficient operations and by preserving the fundamental strengths and values of our brand". Analysts say Starbucks' market has been eroded by improved coffee offerings at fast-food stores such as McDonald's which typically charge much lower prices. Starbucks has 16,875 stores globally. It once boasted of an ambition to have 20,000 outlets in the US and a further 20,000 overseas, although expansion plans have since been radically scaled back. On the other hand, it is clear that coffee is not for everyone. In excessive amounts - meaning more than whatever an individual's body can tolerate - coffee can cause nervousness, jitters, and rapid heartbeat. Although studies investigating any relationship between higher cholesterol levels and coffee have yielded conflicting results, it is believed that in some people, drinking excessive amounts of coffee might cause elevated cholesterol levels (5). However, coffee drinkers who consume filtered coffee should not worry themselves with respect to cholesterol levels, because research indicates that it is the coffee oils which are mainly responsible for the rise in cholesterol in people who drink nonfiltered or boiled coffee. Most recent large studies show no significant adverse affects on most healthy people, although pregnant women, heart patients, and those at risk for osteoporosis may still be advised to limit or avoid coffee. After analyzing data on 120,000 people over an 18-year period, researchers at Harvard have concluded that drinking 1 to 3 cups of caffeinated coffee each day can reduce diabetes risk by several percentage points, compared with not drinking coffee at all. Even more significant, is the fact that in this study, having 6 cups or more per day slashed men's risk by 54% and women's risk by 30% over those who avoided coffee. This study is the latest of hundreds of studies which suggest that coffee may be something of a health food - especially in higher amounts. At least 6 studies indicate that people who drink coffee on a regular basis have up to 80% lower risks of developing Parkinson's disease, with 3 of those studies indicating that the more coffee they drink, the lower the risk. Other studies indicate that, compared to not drinking coffee, drinking at least 2 cups per day can lead to a 25% lower risk of colon cancer, an 80% drop in the risk of liver cirrhosis, and nearly 50% the risk of gallstones. CleanSenseo® Sundays ::: Intelligent Toys ::: | Senseo Sundays today brings you the Intelligent Toys part 5 - a Sutemos release - with tracks that make you feel comfortable and 'at home' even at work. Big thanks to our listeners and the tons of e-mail that came in about the return of the Senseoreg; Sundays. It's OK ! Coffee and good music is appreciated by many different cultures. It's our way of saying 'hello' during a 15 minutes coffee break.... cheers! Abyssinian Mocca is an Ethiopian coffee type exclusive to Moplaco. The coffee is grown in the Eastern highlands if Ethiopia where Mocca coffee originated. It grows at altitudes as high as 2,200 metres and the local farmers use only traditional methods of cultivation. It is carefully cleaned and prepared at Moplaco's Addis Ababa facility using modern techniques and equipment. The coffee is of uniform appearance and the cup quality is characterized by the consistency of its special Mocca flavor; the unique winey, gamey tastes which can only be found in coffee from this area. CleanSenseo® Sundays ::: TALES ::: | The Senseo Sundays are back online! Your 15 minutes coffee break accompanied with good music. Coffea Arabica originated in Ethiopia where apparently a shepherd noticed that his goats became more frisky and animated after chewing on the berries of the plant. Kaffa, the region where this amazing plant was discovered, has cultivated the plants and beans since the thirteenth century. It wasn't until the sixteenth century however that the locals began roasting the pits of the coffee cherries before using them in their hot brewed beverages. These beans or pits were dried, roasted and ground to create the first coffee beverage. Arabia maintained a hold on coffee production for several centuries, however the Dutch managed to smuggle a few plants out of Arabia and a long a colourful history of espionage, smuggling and redistribution ensued. Now coffea arabica grows around the planet in a narrow belt around the equator and is one of the second highest commodities traded after oil. Light roast Some coffees, like our Costa Rica, have such a delicate fragrance that roasting them beyond a light- medium roast would ruin them. Medium roast Incredibly complex, full flavour, optimal body, balanced acidity. This is where we get the most and the best out of our beans. Dark roast Our Dark French roast is roasted slowly to caramelize the sugars in the beans. This results in a sweeter finish than most fast roasted dark beans available elsewhere. The intensity of the French roast lies in its bittersweet peculiar taste. So, have a break..... Senseoreg; Sundays ::: TALES ::: (03:00) - Wreckage in Space (06:10) - Imperial Space Fleet (10:10) - Sagitarius Gate TALES is a project by the French composer Jean-Luc Herveacute; Berthelot. spacemusic.nl copy; 2009 [ad#post-ad] | 2/16/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanS 4.14 Mystery of Mystery | The adrenaline one gets while hearing music on a dancefloor can also be generated when listening to ambient music on the sofa, couple of beats included if you will, shall we try today? Good music from the 90's comes with mystery as well, some bands still exist, some bands simply disappeared from the scene and only continued to perform in our memories. These memories will be visualized on this Spacemusic podcast S 4.14 nbsp;- we bring in the real guns... Xingu Hill is the perfect opening for 1995 on stage, we saw the man performing his album 'Maps of the Impossible' but today we play unreleased stuff.... Turning the knobs, lifting us from the ground as the hi-cut frequency filter opened up our world of dreams. The PLATO store in The Hague during the 90's was our weekly stop for the latest news about ambient and electronic releases: Mr. 'Elf' certainly overwhelmed us those days with his excellent choices for exclusive albums....nbsp;Enjoy this (90's) essence of ambient and beats, accompanied with Xingu Hill, Pete Namlook, Higher Intelligence Agency, The Psychick Warriors ov Gaia and Bola. The great spirit of the 90's, the warm ambient/electronic music scene, parties we visited back then 15 years ago in Leerdam, Wassenaar, Rotterdam, The Hague and more...., no laser shows but strobo+smoke and pars only, DJ's-Labels-and friends like Paul Funk, Elf, Mixmaster Morris, Apollo Records, KK-records, EM:T records, April Records, Rising High Records, FAX-label, Nico, Olaf, Mark, Tim, Paul, Victor, ... CleanS 4.13 NSAID COX1 COX2 | Spacemusic on drugs this episode: non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs during the mixing and production to keep the tooth pain a bit light and bearable. The mind will flow from the past to the present and the future, it's a moving show, it's a show that makes you think about music in general and the digital era we live in. Artists publishing albums via their websites - making it more easy to keep track of their music - buying digital downloads via iTunes Store or any other store out there. In the year 2005 we had contact with Sonarfreq for instance - space music encounter with a touch of magic as Sonarfreq was a true creative designer both in audio and visual forms. After hardly 4 years we started searching for him again... the original Sonarfreq URL now pops-up a completely different site, no Sonarfreq music anymore, no artwork, all gone. Not a single trace via the iTunes Store. Silence.... Just a second ago we realized that the modern way of publishing music via sites and e-stores makes music more fragile than you'd possibly think... There's this risk of music being DIGITAL only: no longer it is a physical product and therefore it has become a very vulnerable piece of art. Horrifying process isn't it?! Seriously, we should look after our artists and music much much more. Though we've done the podcast for 4 years now it's always a matter of triple checking every link and every line of code and then go for it. That's called computer stuff right? ;-) So here we are now. The new S p a c e m u s i cnbsp;website. The new P o d c a s t feed. Wordpress it is! Very easy implementation (when you know how it works) and look @ the nice player that comes with a podcast post so you can click the player and listen right from this page...cool huhm? Next step: submitting this feed to iTunes as we're not yet listed there. Also diving into stats and stuff becuase we'd like to know how many listeners are moving with us. Feedburner.com offers great statistics so we've heard but yet not transparent and clear to us. Something nice for the upcoming weekend to check out. Meanwhile, thank you so much for changing/adding the subscription feed to this one; there's a surprise waiting for you guys and girls: a couple of instrumental versions of earlier old-time Spacemusic podcasts will arrive one after another....they do sound great in HiFi stereo and higher bitrates! Lovely. Feedback is welcome. Pictures are welcome too! The Facebook can store tons of faces from around the globe. Let's make this a true party ok? Thanks for your support. nbsp;~TC [caption id="attachment_70" align="alignnone" width="315" caption="We#39;re Here!"][/caption] Feed Shark | 11/12/08 | Free | View In iTunes |

| 127 | CleanVideoXMAS VIDEO : Oxygene 30th Anniversary | Jean Michel Jarre is a pioneer of one of the fastest growing music trends today & electronic music. His début album, OXYGÈNE, upon its release 30 years ago, took the world by surprise not only by its avant-garde musical genre, but also by its audacious album cover art-work (planet earth peeling away to reveal a human skull) True to his spirit of creating an event out of all endeavours, Jarre decided to unearth his collection of vintage synthesisers and perform his original masterpiece for a new recording. Having realised the collection of mythical instruments he had horded over the years and forgotten for some, in the depths of his garage, he decided to film his live performance of OXYGENE in HD and in stereoscopic 3D with optional 5.1 surround sound and Dolby digital. "OXYGENE – Live in your living room" is what Jean Michel Jarre has created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his super-hit album: the stereoscopic 3D video and surround sound give the unique impression of being right there next to Jean Michel and his instruments while seated on your living room couch. Jean Michel is accompanied by three musicians for this live performance, as the 8 track original masterpiece requires eight hands for a live performance… | 12/24/07 | Free | View In iTunes |

Customer Reviews
It is $, but VERY good quality
I was disappointed to see this now become a paid selection. However, it is still has the highest producation values of any podcast. It is a better deal than the Hearts of Space model at $0.83/minute and $0.03/minute for TC's product. Though HOS has much, much more back catalog to work with, TC offers enough excellent music for me and my humble podcast addiction.
Quality Soundscapes
TC does a tremendous job in providing top quality space music from around the world. My hope is that when the podcasts are charged $1.99 for each episode, listeners will support his efforts and realize it costs money to provide this type of quality music.
Happiness is downloading the latest Spacemusic.
One of the first podcasts I ever listened to and still my favorite. Nobody does ambient and chillout better than TC. Within the Spacemusic universe are a number of podcasts including music, soundseeing tours and short videos. Check out the website to learn more. Don't be discouraged by other posts, only one of the subcategories charges a fee (which is well worth it for the effort and content) but most are still free. I can't recommend it more highly.
