The thinking man's companion to television's guilty pleasures

If you're not familiar with OverthinkingIt.com, it's a site that "subjects the popular culture to a level of scrutiny it probably doesn't deserve" (their words). This is sort of a spinoff of their regular podcast, specifically about Glee and Gossip Girl. If you like those shows, you need to check this out - I promise you, the Overthinkers have a different take on them than anyone else on the net. One of them is a degree-carrying social scientist, and the other is a professional actor. That makes them uniquely qualified to break down what these shows are up to. And even if you DON'T follow Glee and Gossip Girl, you might still want to check this podcast out. These guys go off on plenty of amusing tangents.

Interesting, unique podcast

This podcast offers a fascinating, insightful analysis of teen soap operas through the discussion of sociology and literature. Honestly, I don't even watch Gossip Girl and Glee regularly anymore, but I always tune into this podcast because these guys present some seriously scholarly subjects in a fun, entertaining way. Give it a listen; it's a one-of-a-kind show.

Um...

I enjoy this podcast-obviously these guys are intelligent and well informed. My only gripe is that sometimes I wonder if either of them will ever get a complete sentence out-besides the constant interruptions of each other, there always seems to be quite a lot of hemming and hawing. "Um...uh...sort of...sort of...um...kind of...uh...this...this...that that that...um..." etc., etc. Too bad-I'm trying to let it roll off, but sometimes this aspect makes for difficult listening.
