Overrated
I have and will probably be a long time fan of Leo Laporte. I have enjoyed his content since ZDTV. It’s just with Gina Trapani, the show takes a weird turn. It’s hard to explain. The content seems to me only about 20% Google. It’s hard to pin down what the show is or isn’t. For me Buzz Out Loud covers Google a whole lot more and more in depth. I’m sure I’ll get labeled a “hater” or that I don’t know good content. But I’m giving my feed back in the proper forum.
Stellar podcast
What a great core group to lead this podcast. Gina Trapani will always be a rockstar in my book for everything she's contributed to Lifehacker and Better Gmail over the past few years. Jeff Jarvis is a great choice as well. As a young newspaper journliast, it's great to have a pairing like this talking about the future of cloud computing and all things Google. Thanks Leo, for putting this together. A great addition to Twit,tv, indeed.
Waste of time
When I first heard about this podcast on TWIT, I thought it was a good idea. It seemed to be a TWIT spinoff devoted to news related to Google and on-line business in general. Well, I've never been fan of Gina Trapani. When she's a guest at TWIT, it feels like she's multitasking and her takes on everything are off the context. It turned out that she's not much better at her own podcast. Very bad example of journalism. She repeats banalities, tries to make an impression of a knowlegable person, though her knowledge does not go far beyond headlines from mainstream tech media. Very shallow. Leo is always talkative and somewhat entertaining, but at TWIG he's completely lost. This podcast has some value for people who have very shalow understanding about tech and on-line business. For tech folks and people who are interested in the subject, this is going to be a waste of time. Sorry.
