Like the style.....but

I subscribe to several historical podcasts and I find that I enjoy those where it seems the host is reading from a script as well as those where the host seems to have more of an outline to speak from, but speaks in a more conversational style. This podcast is of the latter type. I enjoy the amount of detail in this podcast. However; the one thing that really annoys me is the audio quality. The volume goes up and down quite a bit, and there are lots of breath sounds through the mic--especially Episode 3--YIKES! I find that I'm constantly adjusting the volume on my PC or iPod to accommodate these inconsistencies. But these annoyances aren't enough to make me stop listening. Keep up the good work, and perhaps try to to pay some attention to the audio quality.

Decent

Overuse of the words "like" and "whatever" along with too many references such as "and then I wrote in my notes..." By all means, have notes to reference, but be familiar with tge material beforehand. It really takes away from the conversational aspect that makes a podcast fun to listen to when it feels like it's all being read from a page. Invest in some decent recording equipment. The sound is very cavernous. Also, edit out the awkward pauses. All criticism aside, I enjoy the podcast when I can manage to get past it's flaws!

Entertaining Podcast

I don't think Virginia claims to be anyone other than a person who is interested in the Tudor era and enjoys discussing it. I think she deserves a lot of credit for the amount of preparation she puts into each show. She speaks well and her voice is podcast friendly and pleasant to listen to. The quality of the recording is very good too. When you add all that up, this is on the high end of the podcast spectrum.
