Podcast Description
Twilight Vision TV started as the brainchild of video editor/musician Kevin Rankin to fill the void of subcultural and underground arts and music in media for artists based in or passing through the New York City area. Twilight Vision chooses to feature subjects or events that are often neglected or ignored by other news sources because of their bizarre or unique nature. Each episode has been created with low-budget and DIY ideals and conveys a fun and playful attitude. Our aim is to continue on the path we have paved to provide a unique and entertaining Web TV experience, exposing new artists and events to a new audience and to provoke established ones to lower their guard and be shown in a new light.

Appropriately, March 19th marks the release of the new remix album DOGMATIC INFIDEL COMEDOWN OK including remixes by such artists as Alec Empire and fellow Twilight Vision alum Combichrist. Enjoy as Chris talks about life, music, fashion and the scary realities of American culture. twilightvisiontv.com iamx.eu | 4/15/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Must have been 5 or so years ago. Their performance blew me away (and upstaged the headliners). Finally, the band has released their first full-length record Frenzy. I think this band is one of the only true good hard rock acts of today. We were glad that they came back to talk to us again. | 9 | ExplicitVideoTwilight Vision TV 021 Gypsy Tabor Festival | Host Evan Produced, Filmed Edited by Kevin Rankin and Evan Kleinman Producer's Notes If you have ever been to the Mehanata Bulgarian Bar in NYC, then you have seen the craziness that ensues when you combine 2 floors of excited DJs and live performers, gypsies of every kind drinking and dancing, and the infamous Ice Cage of vodka. The Gypsy Tabor Fest was an extension of the gypsy punk attitude from the club into the open air of deep Brooklyn. Evan and I went to capture the excitement so get a glass of Slavianskaya pepper-flavored vodka and enjoy the ride. twilightvisiontv.com nygypsy.com | 4/14/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 10 | ExplicitVideoTwilight Vision TV 002 The Meatmen | Host Mademoiselle Lena Produced, Filmed Edited By Kevin Rankin Producer's Notes Tesco Vee was another personal hero of mine. The politically uncorrectness and raw punk rock of the Stud Powercock The Touch and Go Years CD helped get my friends and I through high school (along with The Misfits' Collection 1 2 and Minor Threat's Complete Discography). When I heard that The Meatmen were being once again resurrected, I knew it was essential for us to catch up with the Dutch Hercules himself. Unfortunately we had some technical difficulties with the sound, but it lended itself to the perfect opportunity to subtitle every filthy word that came out of Tesco's mouth. | 11 | ExplicitVideoTwilight Vision TV 012 Voltaire (Outtakes from Catwalk Tragedy) | Host Mademoiselle Lena Produced, Filmed, and Edited by Kevin Rankin Producer's Notes We've been sitting on this episode for a while, waiting for the best time to release it. We had so much great extra footage of Voltaire from the Catwalk Tragedy that didn't quite fit in with the original episode that we decided to give him his own. I believe this is the perfect way to end off Season 1 of Twilight Vision. twilightvisiontv.com voltaire.net catwalktragedy.com | 4/14/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 12 | ExplicitVideoTwilight Vision TV 003 Cylab | Host Swabby Produced, Filmed and Edited by Kevin Rankin Producer's Notes Cylab hooked me when I first heard their female-fronted brand of industrialEBM covering Heart Shaped Box by Nirvana. I'll have to admit that I'm a sucker for anything Kurt Cobain-related and female vocals. I was glad to hear this group was performing since their three members live in New York, Seattle and LA. twilightvisiontv.com cylabonline.com | 4/14/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 13 | ExplicitVideoTwilight Vision TV 011 The Death of Alice Blue | Host Sin Dee Producer's Notes Our first movie premiere! And what's not better than a Canadian vampiric dark-comedy making it's premiere at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City? Sin Dee caught up with writerdirectoractor Park Bench and produceractress Alex Appel to talk about this movie. Alice has 3 Accolade Film Awards (best actress, movie and direction). Since the MoMA it's gone to the Atlanta Film Festival and the Houston Film Festival - where it won 2 awards for best film and best special effects. It will screen in Seatle on June 11 and has already won Sexiest Vampire, from the Seattle True Independent Film Festival. | 14 | ExplicitVideoTwilight Vision TV 016 Sioux City Pete The Beggars | Guest Host Christine Produced, Filmed Edited by Kevin Rankin Additional Footage Courtesy of Hipster Death Video Producer's Notes I have been seeing this band every time they have come to NYC ever since I first encountered them. It was the I've ever seen somebody wearing a 45 Grave T-shirt in the city. What I discovered is one of the most raw, dirty, loud, scary, sexy and honest rock and roll bands I had ever seen. Despite constant trouble holding a line-up, front man Sioux City Pete holds this band together, making sure they are constantly touring to let the kids know that rock and roll can still be dangerous. I firmly believe this is a band you must experience yourself to feel the charge of energy that they produce. twilightvisiontv.com siouxcitypeteandthebeggars.com myspace.comsiouxcitypeteandthebeggars | 4/14/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 15 | ExplicitVideoTwilight Vision TV 010 Original Sin Pin-Up Contest | Host Sin Dee Produced, Filmed, and Edited by Kevin Rankin Producer's Notes We came, we drank, we saw, and we drank. My NYC punk rock favorite bar + a great beverage + beautiful women everywhere = it must be on Twilight Vision TV. Host's Notes On April 2nd, 2009 I had the pleasure of being a contestant in the Original Sin Cider pin up contest. The winner will be featured in a Sin Cider poster by artist R. Black. In this episode I interviewed the judgespast poster girls Amber Star, Storm and Molly Crabapple, artist R. Black, and founder of Sin Cider, Gidon. Tons of people came out for the night and watched as sexy pin up girls strutted their stuff on stage. The performer! Mr. Lorge let us into his home to tell us about the Cock. As Evan explains, Cock Lorge is like the Shakespeare of porn. Cock Lorge has been weaving sexuality into catchy pop songs for years, and now has his band, The Cock Lorge Band, behind him bringing it to the next level. He is one of my favorite songwriters in New York City and plays every first Friday at Piano's. | 21 | ExplicitVideoTwilight Vision TV 007 WorldInferno Friendship Society | Host Evan Produced, Filmed Edited by Kevin Rankin Add. Camera Evan Kleinman, Jordana Lewinter Add. Sound Jim Norton Producer's Notes When I was introduced to the WorldInferno some years back, much about them was shrouded in mystery. They were not a band, but a cult. Their shows were not shows, they were rituals. Their music was not typical of any genre, but the spirit of punk rock was apparent more than any other band I had ever seen before. Most everything about them us unpredictable and utterly unique and they quickly became on of my favorite bands. It was an honor to sit down with them for Twilight Vision and I think it's safe to say that this is so far, my favorite episode of the series thus far. twilightvisiontv.com worldinferno.com | 4/14/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 22 | ExplicitVideoTwilight Vision TV 006 Kiss Kiss | Host Mademoiselle Lena Produced, Filmed, and Edited by Kevin Rankin Producer's Notes I've had the luck of seeing this band grow and progress for many years as a fellow student at their alma mata SUNY Purchase. Through many line-up changes, Kiss Kiss has finally found stability with their current line-up. The band has finally released their sophomore record The Meek Shall Inherit What's Left... after an near 2-year writing and recording process. It is a fierce blend of genres with a wide-variety of instruments and orchestrations. Through all of this, there is a sense of humor that holds this band together, as showcased in their constant pranks and parody of themselves. When this band breaks huge and sells millions of records, remember that Twilight Vision TV was here to tell you from the beginning. twilightvisiontv.com myspace.comtwilightvisiontv | 4/14/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Producer's Notes Boobs and Blood...F**k Yeah! is the chorus of the The Love Theme to Kids Get Dead. It describes what this low-budget horror movie is all about, fun. We crashed the premiere of this movie and it's rock-n-roll after party to talk to the cast and crew. twilightvisiontv.com kidsgetdead.com | 4/14/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 27 | ExplicitVideoTwilight Vision TV 013 The Birthday Massacre | Host Swabby Produced, Filmed Edited by Kevin Rankin Show and Tell Music Courtesy Metropolis Records Producer's Notes I wanted to launch Season 2 (and the new website) with one of my favorite bands, The Birthday Massacre. I first saw them years ago at Crash Mansion with Suicide City opening. They are a perfect blend of 80's synth-popgoth with a modern hard rock edge and have a new live album (accompanying DVD coming soon). We caught up with them on Chibi's birthday at their signing at NYC's Vampire Freak's store and their show at the Highline Ballroom. twilightvisiontv.com thebirthdaymassacre.com | 4/14/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 28 | ExplicitVideoTwilight Vision TV 004 Skeletonbreath | Host Mademoiselle Lena Produced, Filmed, and Edited by Kevin Rankin Producer's Notes Here at Twilight Vision, I like showcasing artists that are unique. Sure there are many bands that have a bit of the strange to them, but not as many of them can rock like Skeletonbreath. This instrumental progressive bass-drums-violin trio has Transylvanian Surf Rock and Halloween party music. I'm so glad to know these individuals and hope they get the exposure that they deserve. Their second LP Eagle's Nest, Devil's Cave is out now and is highly recommended. twilightvisiontv.com myspace.comskeletonbreath | 4/14/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 29 | ExplicitVideoTwilight Vision TV 019 Emilie Autumn | Host Damiana Produced, Filmed Edited by Kevin Rankin Producer's Notes You may have heard of Emilie Autumn from playing violins with Billy Corgan, Courtney Love, or Metalocalypse's Dethklok, but she shines best as a frontwoman for her Victoriandustrial music and backing performers The Bloody Crumpets. The new US release of her breakthrough album Opheliac and long-awaited book The Asylum... brings to life her phantasmagoric world. Emilie Autumn puts on a Broadway-esque production for the rock club audience. twilightvisiontv.com emilieautumn.com | 4/14/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 30 | ExplicitVideoTwilight Vision TV 001 Green Jelly | Host Damiana Darkstar Produced, Filmed Edited By Kevin Rankin Producer's Notes Growing up, Green Jelly was one of the first bands that really affected my life. I'd say most of my interests, musically and visually, stemmed somehow from this band (though often many times removed). I thought interviewing them on their first tour in 15 years was the best way I could possibly kick-off this show. The show was amazing. Their sense of community with their fans is unmatched by most any acts I have ever seen. Even Chuck Varga (aka The Sexecutioner from GWAR) was hanging out. I actually ended up spending near 3 months on tour with this band shortly after this. I hope you have as much fun watching this as I did creating it. twilightvisiontv.com myspace.comgreenjelly | 1/20/09 | Free | View In iTunes |
