He spent thirty years with the federal government, but is now a county elected official and loves the freedom it allows. Known to many as America's toughest sheriff, he is accused by every civil rights organization you can think of for abusing his privileges and imposing on human rights. His prisoners live in tents, exposed to the elements, and he has put bans on everything from cigarettes, to salt, to television. He also takes pride in both his male and female chain gangs. But because of this strict demeanor, his county of over four million people have reelected him five times in a row.
