Podcast Description
Have you ever noticed that when your world seems to be in times of utter chaos, or even of pure joy, that the people around you seem to be having remarkably similar experiences? It's not just a coincidence, it's planetary... Astrology does not believe that we are ruled by the stars--that's only half of the picture. They're not directing us, they're REFLECTING us! Hi, welcome to It's Planetary! I'm Heather Burdette. I started studying astrology more than ten years ago, when I set out to prove it wrong. Clearly it didn't work out that way...After all these years of study and close observation of real life examples all around me (including my own life of course) it's become clear that I can help others to understand astrology as it relates on a very real, very day-to-day level. Remember to subscribe for weekly updates (and follow us on Twitter @itsplanetary) and see how much of your OWN life is reflected in the stars.

CleanGetting Ahead of Myself on Your Behalf | Hi everybody, and welcome to It’s Planetary! It’s Wednesday, May 5, 2010. I’m Heather Burdette, reminding you that “You’re not crazy—it’s planetary!” I promise… Well gang, it’s sort of a slow news week this time around—in terms of specific issues I can point at with a solid feeling, anyway—so once I launch into the forecast, I’m going to go ahead and take it out a little ways ahead. I’ll be covering May 5th thru Monday May 17th, just to cover some good ground, and to make room for the gigantic aspects that are happening for ME in the interim. I’ve got some big stuff happening (all good, I desperately hope) and with Mercury going direct and a New Moon coming up, I need to leave myself some “don’t have to write the podcast space,” you know what I’m sayin? You know—now that I think about it—it’s not surprising at all that big stuff should be going on in my chart in this period. This stretch includes May 11th thru the 14th. No big deal to the rest of the world, I’m sure—but for me, this little window of days pops up over and over. Two of my best friends have shared a May 14th birthday, along with two different men I dated along the way. Jozef himself—the one I married—was born on May 13th. And Marco of It’s Planetary intro & outro fame was born on May 11th. Whenever I meet someone that I bond with in a certain, indescribably distinct way, I guess their birthday within this range—and I’m always met a very stunned response. May 1st and December 1st are ones I see over and over again, too—but those make a little more sense for various reasons. The May stretch of dates is still a mystery to me. It’s probably a midpoint for me or one of those other elements of astrology I haven’t had the opportunity to really explore fully. *shrug* I dunno. But it’s interesting… This year, during that stretch, I have Jupiter squaring my Venus, and Uranus opposing my Pluto, along with all the “regular” stuff affecting everyone universally (pardon the pun.) So you can see how I might anticipate events that override the podcast getting done, and I’m patting myself on the back right now for paying attention and taking care of you folks ahead of time as opposed to just drifting along and dropping the ball. *curtsy* Thank you. ;-) I just hope this little effort is enough. If you’re following along and doing the math, you’ve figured out that my natal Pluto is very much tied up in the whole T-square going on this summer…I’m just hanging on for the ride. Of course, we ALL need to keep in mind the bigger stuff that’s hanging out in general, starting back at the end of April when Saturn opposed Uranus. Since then, we’ve had a volcano disrupting air travel over Europe for days on end. We noticed the earthquakes in South America when Pluto went retrograde last month, too—and when Saturn inconjuncted Chiron and then Neptune this month, we’ve added the largest oil spill in history and a terrorist attempt in Times Square. Did I leave anything out? Starting to get the picture with the Big Nasty T-Square this year? Oh, we’re far from done with all of this super-sized craziness… **Notes-Only addition: Jozef just reminded me that I forgot the flood in Nashville...Oy.** So anyway, keeping in mind that ANYTHING is possible from now until late fall—this ‘cast starts off light, on Wednesday, May 5th. The Aquarius moon that kicked in yesterday afternoon is still with us, and while the day could be busy, with various tasks, ideas, and social opportunities tugging at your attention, it looks pretty smooth, thankfully. CleanI'm Still Standing | Hi everybody, and welcome to It’s Planetary! It’s Tuesday, April 27, 2010. I’m Heather Burdette, reminding you that “You’re not crazy—it’s planetary!” I promise… Well, here we are, halfway through the Mercury retrograde period (give or take) and so much for getting back on the usual schedule, eh? Speaking of which, as it turns out, in the last podcast I probably SHOULD have mentioned that Saturn-Uranus opposition that’s looming over us right now. Volcanic ash from Iceland shutting down the skies over the UK certainly seems to fit in with this whole dynamic, doesn’t it? Think about it—and let’s go ahead and throw the square with Pluto into the mix as well for the whole Big T-Square, since it’s certainly a factor here as well. Saturn = earth, Pluto = forces churning deep, deep below, and Uranus = (in this case) surprise. Of course, we could also take Saturn’s tendency to shut things down or to place obstacles in the path in this circumstance—that makes perfect sense too, doesn’t it? Yeah—I probably should have mentioned the opposition—as a Uranus-ruled Aquarius, it’s definitely affecting me personally, which I was ridiculously late in noticing. And the truly odd thing to me is that volcanic ash shutting down the British airways is an eerily accurate reflection of how the opposition hits my personal chart—across the 3rd and 9th house axis. In other words, global-scale unexpected events occurring in foreign countries (and my failure to mention the offending aspect, with Saturn in my 3rd.) The outline applies to a great many of us, I’d expect—“global-scale unexpected events occurring in foreign countries”—but the 3rd/9th house alignments for the opposition would affect only about 1/12th of the population, wouldn’t it? Another excellent argument for this all really being our Personal Movie? I dunno… But enough about global circumstances—I’m personally feeling the effects of the opposition between Saturn & Uranus, given that along with Jupiter (thanks to 4 planets in Sadge) Uranus is co-ruler of my chart, as I mentioned. I often forget about this type of element in astrology, or think about it as one of the “subtle shadings” and blah blah blah. But having the planet that rules your Sun sign in an on-going tug of war with Saturn—Yeah, I’ve gotta tell ya—I can feel it. My internal tension is like biting on tinfoil just these last few days, and Saturn in Virgo just keeps wagging its finger at me, reminding me of all the many, many details I need to turn my attention to. I’m coming to believe that what I really need to do is pare down my To Do list and drop some items that truly aren’t as necessary as I currently believe them to be. Unfortunately, that’s unlikely to happen, so I’ll bite on my tinfoil and just keep swimming for a few more weeks till some of the deadlines pass…Clearly though, while I’m very happy with my life and routines in general (as much as my routines are still very much unsettled in the new place and with Jozef’s new schedule) this is a year that sees the need to constantly re-prioritize, remain flexible and prepared to drop and rearrange things as circumstances around you shift. And remember to stay calm. The biggest danger we all face is becoming hijacked by our own fears or by those being thrust at us from others. So there. With all of that in mind, let’s shift now to this week’s forecast. Again, it’s Tuesday, April 27, 2010 and we’re still most likely feeling the echoing vibrations of the Saturn-Uranus opposition from yesterday. These slow-moving planets stay in aspect to each other longer than | 4/27/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

I’m Heather Burdette, reminding you that “You’re not crazy—it’s planetary!” I promise… Hey Gang, Happy New Moon! I’m just gonna wrap up the week through Monday as usual, and hope to High Heaven that some pretty good planets this weekend let me get back on track with the podcast schedule. As I said though, today IS a New Moon, and it’s bright and early this morning just the way Aries likes it. I don’t know about you, but this new moon AND the coming Mercury Retrograde are both in my 10th house of reputation & career. I can’t help but wonder what that means for the coming weeks, since I have nothing but the usual seventeen irons in the fire right now (and they’ve been cooking along just the way I like them to) but I’ll just have to wait and see I guess. I do know I started about a dozen online talent profiles before the move that have just been sitting open in my Firefox, waiting for me to finish…that seems fairly likely, doesn’t it? Maybe I’ll hear from a long-lost boss or two, huh? Oh, the possibilities… Anyway—coming back to just today, Wednesday, April 14, 2010, we wake up to that bright and shiny Aries new moon at 5:30am this morning on the Pacific coast—and yeah—I bet you really WILL be up early today one way or another. Don’t worry though, the whole world goes a little blurry just after lunchtime Pacific, and that kiss to Neptune kicks off a moon void that says it’s okay to sleep off the afternoon. Well, as usual, I’m running behind on nearly everything in my life, mainly because Jozef and I are still half in boxes and such around the new place. I’ll have a couple of days this week to get a little more situated, and (eek) it looks like my pace might be calming down a bit in the coming weeks anyway (but work-wise, I really hope not.) Jozef, on the other hand, is about to see his work life take off as he assumes his new position with one of the hottest lounge bands on the Strip, playing nearly every night for the rest of this month and then steadily off into the future. Woo-hoo! Yes, it’s absolutely fantastic for him, but naturally, it’s going to change our lives fairly significantly, and for the first few weeks, I’m sure it’ll be very challenging for both of us… I’m sure we’re not the only ones running like crazy these days. I’d have to take a larger step back than I’m prepared to right now to see if I can draw lines out from today’s full moon at 9 degrees of Libra and see how far back into the past they reach—but it IS tempting. Regular listeners will know that my husband Jozef & I have been living as roommates of another couple since before we even met, and that situation is now drawing to a close as he and I head out into a place of our own for the first time in our relationship and marriage. Naturally, as educational and beneficial for both of us this has been—not only providing a strong financial base to whether the difficult economy and giving us a strong and healthy marriage to model ours on to at least some extent—it’s time for us to move on and get some space. But man oh man, what great stuff happened, huh? Again—at least for me, and for lots of people around me, too. We’re still in a fantastic aspect as we wake up this Monday the 22nd of March—Mars in Leo Sextiling Saturn in Libra. Last week, as Mars finally reversed direction and resumed forward motion and action toward our goals, it almost felt like it came back with a vengeance—like it had a chip on its shoulder after being retrograde since the holidays. The first part of the week was pretty rough, but as we went along, things seemed to be getting better and better. I mean the pace didn’t slow down, but it seemed like it was good stuff flowing our way, and that Good Stuff Flow might just continue on through today, tomorrow, and even Wednesday or beyond, since that Mars-Saturn sextile goes exact at 8:55pm tonight, and since Mars is still moving more slowly than the Sun or Mercury would in the same matchup, the influence could linger a few days beyond exact. But that pretty little kiss, getting things rolling and sealing the deal in lots of cases, along with the lingering Gemini moon makes Monday a pretty good day for the most part. There’s a little unexpected bump just before 6pm Pacific, but things return to the dreamy just before 7pm, and it’ll stay that way during the moon void till 11:15pm, when the moon slips into crusty & caring Cancer…Late-nighters on the Pacific coast will feel a downer of a little bump at 1:20am Tuesday, but hopefully you’ll sleep thru the night just fine… Tuesday morning, early risers on the East Coast will face some kind of overwhelm around 7am EST—I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s an allergy attack or something like that—there’s a lot of watery congestion this morning. And that sort of sets the tone for the day on both coasts, as an opposition from the moon to Pluto at 8:40am Pacific shows a small but intense-feeling clash of wills this morning. I guess the crusty side of Cancer will be with us after all today. Another communication kerfuffle just before 10pm PST sends us to bed in a grump. That’s okay—tomorrow IS another day… Wednesday morning, the Cancer moon is still with us, and as I’ve noted in the past, water-sign moons seem to make all of us move a little slower and feel a bit more drained. In any case, SOMEONE’S sensitivity or desire for action will be unsatisfied at lunch today—1 | 3/23/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

As we wake up Monday morning March 8, we definitely ARE ready to go go go—but we’ll have to wait just a couple more days to really get into the flow with that “make it happen” vibe, and that’s likely to slam on the brakes this morning in a way that rubs you the wrong way, but we’re in a moon void till 9:15am Pacific, so these bumps won’t necessarily have any lasting results. Once the moon shifts into Capricorn at 9:15, we’re all about business, but somehow, our calculated approach to things today will cross paths with our desire to make things happen immediately, as well as the compromises required in order to keep balance in all of our various relationships. Venus in Aries is opposing Saturn in Libra in the early morning hours of Tuesday morning, and the Capricorn moon aggravates this setup today, bringing it squarely into our attention. Generally speaking, this opposition implies that our recently renewed and self-oriented drive is in a tug-of-war with the need to be fair and to find balance. As the image suggests, we’ll veer between these two poles at times throughout the day, but the overall result will be a fairly serious mood. This falls in line with Mars coming to its dead standstill as it prepares to return to direct motion this week—we’re in planning mode, even though Venus in Aries is ready to take action. Hold off on those power moves for a couple of days, but get into position to spring… Tuesday March 9, we’re still in the busy and industrious Capricorn moon, but that business will be more in rhythm with the universal flow today, as the moon kisses Jupiter and Mercury this morning and afternoon. It’s a great combination for getting plans made, but for having those plans actually be in tune with the direction of your life right now. In fact, it’s a fantastic day for wrapping up your actions from the last few months, which has most likely been about going back to tackle creative or publicity-related projects. Since December, we’ve had energy to put toward things that were overlooked in the lead-up to the holidays last fall—but now it’s time to put those projects to rest and to mov | 3/8/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Well, coming off this weekend’s full moon, I hardly know what to say—it was a particularly stressful one for me for some reason, but clearly the conjunction with Jupiter worked out beautifully for some folks out there. If nothing else, we should be feeling hope & optimism right now…I worked on stilts at an enormous & spectacular event benefiting brain research, and apparently, it raised $27 million dollars. I just find myself reeling from the opposition part of the full moon—the cost of glossing over details and trying to “go with the flow” when that flow is moving just a little too fast to manage. While we’re all enjoying Mercury in Aquarius, it’s a great time to refer a friend to It’s Planetary, as well as to stop by iTunes and leave a review of this podcast. Your friends will thank you for the referral, and I’ll thank you for the iTunes review! Man—what a lovely weekend. An Aquarius new moon giving us some excellent and diverse ideas and projects to set in motion, as well as the Sun’s meeting with Neptune & Chiron in Aquarius, bringing unity and healing in new ways. Toss in a sexy little Venus-Pluto vibe last night, with Venus newly in sweet Pisces, and for the great majority of us, it should have been a lovely & dreamy-creamy Valentine’s Day. Throw in the influence of Mars sextiling Saturn this morning, which would have been with us all weekend as well, and you’ve got some extra energy that might even have been a boost in the Business Time Department or in creating some excellent structure within your relationship. Or maybe you spent Valentine’s Day with the Ghost of Relationship Past, thanks to the retrograde motion of both Mars AND Saturn right now—but hopefully all the hopeful and healing planets yesterday pitched in to make that a positive experience. For a little real-life synchronicity, take note of the Winter Olympics opening over the weekend on the new moon—while sporting events aren’t really an Aquarian strong point, nations coming together in peace, and unity most certainly is—and Jozef and I were both struck by that feeling as we watched the Opening Ceremonies Friday night. And since I’m mentioning the opening of the games, I can’t ignore the fatal accident that occurred on the same day, the day the world came together to celebrate and recognize athleticism, excellence, and fraternity. I’ll just gently remind everyone that Mars was still near-perfectly inconjunct Pluto that Friday morning, and that Saturn and Pluto are still locked in the square they’re holding over us most of this year. I’m not going to break down the incident to the minutiae, but yes—there were plenty of corollaries to events such as this in the sky on that day (as well as the lovely ones) and they must have made aspects to his personal chart in just exactly the right way. It’s most unfortunate, and very sad—but again, with that Big Square hanging out, losses that get our attention in a very big way are to be expected this year. I know that the Olympians will honor his memory by living the dream that he was there to live. | 2/15/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

In other words, it was NOT a day for me to be writing&# | 2/8/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Alright—so on the surface, it looks like a relatively slow week ending in a full moon. But we all know that looks can be deceiving. I’m sure you’ve probably noticed the reincarnation of issues from last fall—specifically issues that came to the fore initially in October & November, but maybe melded or morphed into related issues in December. I’m talking about the Saturn-Pluto square, which is set to hit its second exact touch on January 31—placing it firmly in my Solar Return for the year, as it happens, a fact I’ve been sorely anticipating since I learned about the square in the first place. Strangely enough though—and I seriously hope I’m not eating my words on this one later—as this second touch approaches, I’m not feeling so scared. Back in the fall, during the months that I mentioned (listeners & readers may recall) that I was personally edging into at least a minor bit of depression. Same info as last week, in other words, but we cut off the old stuff and start with today, Monday, December 28, 2009: Today gets off to a mildly bumpy start—for west-coasters, the alarm goes off too early (or not at all?) and/or the cat bounces off your head around 5:05-5:15am. For east-coasters just arriving at work, you’ll have a groan as you suddenly remember what work you left sitting over the holiday weekend. Your heart isn’t much in it this morning, and you’ll be moving slowly and maybe even keeping to yourself this morning. There’s some overload of one kind or another at 9:55am Pacific, and the moon goes VOC in Taurus for the rest of the workday. Chipper Gemini kicks in at 5:15pm Pacific this evening, increasing the pace of the rush hour traffic, but Venus completing the square from Pluto to Saturn tonight means that something is still weighing heavily on your heart tonight. “Why can’t I just be happy?” I don’t know—but you won’t be tonight… This is a good time to remember that it’s temporary if it’s something you can’t control. Tuesday the 29th again requires just a slight adjustment in your breakfast routine, but aside from that, we might just get to enjoy the quick-as-a-dart humor of Gemini today, and get our minds of | 12/28/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

I promise… (Audio podcast freeiTunes download at http://tinyurl.com/itsplanetary-itunes2 Direct download Podcast at http://itsplanetary.libsyn.com/ ) So I sat down Monday afternoon to write the podcast, already a day late, and I got about two and a half pages in when I noticed a post on my page at www.facebook.com/itsplanetary from my dear Aunt Michele, indicating that she had in fact had just as lovely a week and weekend as I had predicted in last week’s cast—which pretty much turned my two and a half pages into kindling. Ha! My week and weekend were fairly good, honestly, but underneath the minor (and certainly not “miraculously”) positive events of that period, I personally experienced a surge in my only recently on-going and pervasive sadness that bordered on depression. No, I don’t really think it’s the holidays—I get a tiny little wave of sadness every year in October or so, but that’s about it—well before Thanksgiving I’m over it, and happy about the holidays. I’m not so much “feeling” Christmas this year, and those two and a half pages were about how I’m seeing that reflected nearly everywhere I look. Even the most Christmas-y types I know are clearly a little “Bah humbug” this year, so with the recent Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in group-think Aquarius, I was going to talk about that this week. And then Michele goes and reports a great week last week—really great, apparently—and that shows me both that my original predictions had some weight (thank goodness) and that perhaps what I was seeing ref | 12/23/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanHALELUJAH!! | Hi and welcome to It’s Planetary! It’s Monday, December 13, 2009. I’m Heather Burdette, reminding you that “You’re not crazy—it’s planetary”! I promise… (Audio podcast free iTunes download at http://tinyurl.com/itsplanetary-itunes2 Direct download Podcast at http://itsplanetary.libsyn.com/ ) Aaaand we’re back, folks—not that you ever noticed we were gone since super-efficient us got it together and had a podcast ready to post while on the road. But we were, and I want to send my special thanks to Reiki Fur Babies who, along with our dear roommates here in Vegas, did some extra-special looking after my sixteen year-old little one, Simon. If you don’t know anything about Reiki, visit www.reikifurbabies.com to meet Candy and Ming, and to learn all about this amazing and very real form of healing. Thanks again ladies, for all the light you sent to my baby. We both appreciate it very much. Very quickly, I also want to send some particular thanks to my friend Heather Walden, who runs www.greensummit.org. While I’ve been dashing about like a chicken with my head cut off, this other Heather (aka @greensummit) has been so kind on my behalf, retweeting, reposting this podcast every week, and sending people to me for readings. HR2, you are just the very best thing. Thank you. Heather doesn’t only post MY podcast, but she’s turned one page of her site into sort of a mini-distillery for astro-blogs. You can find the blogs of some of my Twittermates there as well, and of course—lots of informative and interesting discussion on Heather’s own pet project, building sustainable housing in Argentina. What a lady… In fact, I have a great deal of gratitude and appreciation for many people that I’ve had the pleasure to meet on Twitter. I haven’t been there much at all for weeks now, but I’ll be the upcoming Mercury retrograde will correct that one way or another. But particular thanks to the ladies of www.astrocreepsandtarotfreaks.com. @thetarotlady @astrogrrl @horoscopeadvice and @taurusrising run a great forum over there, and they are always so kind with retweeting my links. I’ll be referencing some of their articles later in this ‘cast, but you should be sure to watch out for @thetarotlady’s appearances on BlogTalkRadio.com—you can even call in for a free tarot reading during the show! Some other favorite Astro-Twitterers of mine (wow—I think I like this better than #FollowFriday!) are @serennu @Dipali_Desai @AstroVerena @EllenZucker @MsDeem9 @AstroSparkles @auracana @AstroDispatch and @JoMadelineMoore. Check them out for some great astrology tweets and blog links. You can never have too many perspectives, in my opinion… So enough of my gratitude for now—you came here for information. So let’s get to it. Wowzy-wowzy-wow-WOW is this ever a month…I mean—this is a pretty busy week, but if we look ahead only 3 or 4 weeks and roll it all up in our view, there is a LOT going on. Old business first as always—we’re still under the effect of the Saturn-Pluto square that’s going to be with us for a good portion of 2010. Between this Big Bad Heavy and the lingering effects of Jupiter conjuncting “Wounded Healer” Chiron last week, getting us all in touch with our most poignant weaknesses—OUCH!! I’ve gotta tellya—I am SO feeling this combination—probably helped out by the next exact touch of the Sat-Pluto square falling precisely on my Solar Return for next year—and I’m realizin | 12/13/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

Inspiring and Insightful....
A weekly staple for me. It has helped to solidify my intuitive flashes and prepares me to understand the subtle nuances of the universe and how it affects me and those around me... thank you for the love/honest/candid/vulnerable podcast!!!!
Excellent
Heather Burdette speaks the numerical language of the stares and planets fluently. This podcast is incredibly professional, informative, and entertaining. Her astrological forecast is as practical and easy to understand as a helicopter traffic report. You can apply this information to anything and everything from your love life to the stock market. A truly unique perspective for understanding your life and the world around you. Highly recommended.
Simply wonderful
My grandmother was an astrologer and when she passed away there seemed to be no one that could tell me how the universe was affecting my life and the world at large. That is until I stumbled upon Heather's podcast. I like how she also includes her own personal natal aspects into the podcast, it allows us, who know our own natal chart, to compare her experience to our own. I don't start the week anymore without listening to her podcast and I follow her on Twitter as well. I recommend you do the same because she always posts great links that will give you more indepth information. Heather and her podcasts are simply wonderful. :)
